 Now before anyone flags me, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with white, but fem shep in the trailers should not be white because Male Shep already is. If they are looking for diversity in their marketing, then why make two sheps who have the same skin colour? Make Fem Shep Brown or Black or Oriental. If bioware does it this way, there will be more appeal to people. 

Also while Bioware is at equality, how about a proper skin colour for Indians like me, I really don't like that my shepard is looking more Hispanic then he is Indian ( I'm not insulting Hispanics, I just want my Shepard to have a skin tone similar to mine).

I'd personally prefer if FemShep was based on, y'know, the default FemShep appearance - i.e. short-haired redhead with a tough-yet-feminine-looking face.

However, as Bioware have said they're re-doing her look, I will be very surprised if FemShep isn't Asian.

But honestly, we should have a little bit of rep, there's like more than a million of brown people in Canada.

Maybe this is where personal choice comes into it, that is the point after all.

My Male Shep is black/mixed race. My two Fem Sheps are white and tanned skinned/dark. I am a white male. I see the generic white male Shepard, or the blondie femshep, and they never look right to me.

Just go with whatever feels right for you.

Personally I don't care since we can change all that in the game, this is the most important.

Seriously? Maybe that's just the European in me talking, but why do we even care what default Shepards look like? I think everybody created his/her own Shepard at some point. If you don't like the default, change it. You know what you want anyway, why ask BioWare to be creative for you if you can do it better yourself?

There are, and I mean this seriously, an substantially large, almost exponential number of potential character customization options in Mass Effect. It would be impossible to make a video containing all of them. As David has mentioned, there will be a video using female Shepard. I believe it is the default Sheperd as it is easiest to recognize and that is a caucasian skin tone.

But which brown person? Chinese? Indian? African? Middle-eastern? Aboriginal (they outnumber Indians quite heavily in Canada)? 

Personally, since Bioware is Canadian and since first nations people are the largest non-European group in Canada, I say they should be first nations people. Of course, since they both are fairly dark and native canadians have all kinds of names and complexions, we could easily argue that they are first nations.

Another first for Bioware diversity!
