It would be impossible to make a video containing all of them. As David has mentioned, there will be a video using female Shepard. While my Shep is caucasian, I would personally be thrilled to see a darker skinned FemShep as the new female avatar. In that way you not only get in the, "hey look, we know women are playing our game", message, but also "we know not everyone playing the game is causasian" bit in there as well.

I think an attractive, brown skinned Femshep would be a nice counter to Caucasian Sheploo.

But honestly, we should have a little bit of rep, there's like more than a million of brown people in Canada. 

But which brown person? Chinese? Indian? African? Middle-eastern? Aboriginal (they outnumber Indians quite heavily in Canada)? 

Personally, since Bioware is Canadian and since first nations people are the largest non-European group in Canada, I say they should be first nations people. Of course, since they both are fairly dark and native canadians have all kinds of names and complexions, we could easily argue that they are first nations.

Well I'm talking about Indo canadians, so yeah, but it would be nice to have a shade for all nationalities. Sometimes I'm just annoyed at how my shep is hispanic looking and not indian looking. There's a shade for different looking caucasians, asians, africans, but not much for south asians. Also I don't think Aborignals outnumber indians by a lot, just a little bit.

Also to everyone else, I'm just sayin' this whole fem shep trailer is happening to bring diversity to the marketing, so why not make it more diverse by making that fem shep non white.

That's actually not surprising. Sheploo's looks haven't exactly been perfectly consistent when it's come to trailers.

There are over 1.6 million first nations and metis versus less than a million Indo Canadians. But there are 10 million who identify as Canadian, 6 million English, 5 million French, 4.7 million Scottish, 4.3 million Irish, 3.1 million German, 1.4 million Italian, 1.3 million Chinese, 1.2 million Ukrainians, 1 million Dutch and 1 million Poles. Sorry, friend, you're pretty far down on the list. Shepard is clearly an English name, so let's make the next one French?

Well first off, the actual count for first nations in Canada is 1.2 million and there's .9 million Indo Canadians, so it's just a difference of .3 million and that number is bound to change in the future and Indo Canadians have a similar skin tone to Pakistanis, Sri Lankans  some middle eastern people, etc. And most of those countries you listed have a very similar caucasian skin tone, so I'm not that far down the list there friend. Also I never talked about chaning Shepard's name.And  It's not unreasonable to demand a skin tone to represent south asians, if bioware is willing to make trailers for fem shep.

I wasn't going to post but there are a couple of problems. I hope you meant "of Asian" descent. In truth, what does it really matter? The trailers, the boxart, etc etc. Not important as they are being used to show a character and what that character is facing. You can look all throughout Youtube and see the "United Ethnicities" of Shep from both genders. It isn't simple to get ones skin tone down perfectly since there are many color spectrums. I for one am African-American/Italian-American. If a game got the tone right, I would be ecstatic but there are too many variables. Am I upset? Not in the least because I can get the features and tone damn close.

Complaining about something that trivial actually shows a person that cannot and will not be satisfied no matter how many choices they have. That is not an insult so please don't interpret it as one. When we played a game like Mortal Kombat and found a fighting style that we could relate to did the complexion of the character come into the equation? Street Fighter, CoD, Battlefield, etc etc? No. So why is it that this game can't be accepted on those same terms. Hell, even in The Elder Scrolls, the skin tones weren't all there. People of different ethnicities didn't stop playing.

This thread in general is just venting. Either one plays because they enjoy it or they don't. Simple. But trying to pick apart something as minute as a skin tone isn't the basis of a good debate.

A black femshep on the cover is fine with me. So is a white one. For that matter, a black maleshep is fine too if that's what they want to put on the game's cover.

I just don't see that this is such a big issue. If you want a black femshep, make one, and roleplay her to your heart's content.

My maleshep is a southerner / country boy as I role play him. Should I start demanding a southern accent for my maleshep? Of course not.
