Here is some of my ideas

1) There is no hope and the Reapers are
to strong. To make sure that the cycle doesn't continue, you must blow
up the Citadel and disable all Mass Relays in hope that the next
organics to come will never be able use them and not seem ready enough,
so the Reapers will not start the cycle thinking that they have not
discovered the Mass Relays yet.

or

2) Almost all of the
Reaper fleet are attacking someplace (like earth the citadel or
something like that). You have saved as many as you could from there but
you see that you are losing the battle and that the army you have
gathered is not enough to destroy the Reapers. In an effort to destroy
them you blow up a Mass Relay and destroy that system along with
everything in there. You then focus on the the few Reapers who are in
the other systems. Many many lives
are lost but you have destroyed all the Reapers. The Galaxy now is
trying to rebuild everything they lost.

I don't think it will be anywhere near as simple as either of those.

Well there could be an ending where Shepherd dies! Man, it's bad enough him/her repeatedly dying as a result of players making errors of judgement like biotically charging into a group of enemies.

It will end like Id4, with Shep and Legion uploading a virus to the Reapers and winning the day.
Hopefully complete with a laughably simple computer virus with a skull and crossbones!

There will be one "Super Reaper" who is the first Reaper. Upon arriving it's found out that it somehow powers all the other Reapers and that it needs to be defeated to lower the shields of all the other Reapers or whatever. They try all their weapons to damage the Reaper as it approaches Earth until it is almost in range. Finally Shepard clears out the Normandy, hops in the drivers seat and in a final bow ploughs straight through the Reaper a blaze of burning glory. After which, the bad guy(s) from the next Mass Effect turn up to steal all the information they can such as perfecting indoctrination for their own means etc.

In fire.

I think Shepard will win and most likely survive and the Reapers will be destroyed completely.  Renegade Shepard will emerge in a galaxy where humans are stronger and have to *ahem* Shepherd the other races into a new age.  Paragon Shepard will be in a unified galaxy with the humans a strong and valued member of the council races pushing forward into a new age.  Something along those lines anyway, I kind of hope there's a scene at the end where Shepard says something along the lines of there being "more work to do" and can carry on working to protect the galaxy.

I'll be disappointed if the Reapers are still about and nothing really gets resolved in the end.  It is a little quick to deal with all the Reapers in one game but it was always supposed to be a trilogy and having the Reapers still be about would defeat the point of the series in my view.

And if they didnt die they still live today. There is no ultimate "ending", there are too many options from ME1 to ME3.
My Shepard will defeat every single toaster, bang the girl (Ashley), save the galaxy and have a lot of little "Williams girls" later. And then he dies due to his own stupidity, driving a car while drunk. RIP commander. The other driver will be executed for "killing" the hero of the galaxy. Bad luck for him.

Kindof like your first idea:

Shepard realizes that the Reapers cannot currently be defeated. All organics can do is try to distract them long enough that enough people can get into hiding and try to survive the purge until the Reapers leave. Then the survivors will have a 50,000 year head start for the next cycle.

But, that doesn't bode well for future games and media, so Shepard will find something somewhere to stop the Reapers either permanently or for a short while.

What's with people and heroic sacrifices? every single story does them. My Shep's going for living legend status.

That would be lame as hell if you get some virus in the last 10 minutes of the game that kills all the reapers.

i would really like to see it go out "Serenity" style. You see the several species and planets picking up and fixing the aftermath. The geth shaking hands with the quarians, having them share the home world or even maybe the geth leaving. All the races together piecing back earth and the citadel (which i am assuming gets trashed). I think what it will do is end up unifying the galaxy in a way it never has before.

I figure it'll end one of two ways:

The way Titan AE began, or the way War of the Worlds ends.

However Shepard manages to defeat the Reapers, the victory should be both total and complete. It should end with the complete annihilation of the Reapers. Anything less would be a let down, and a bit anti-climactic if Shepard's story ends with him only postponing the extinction cycle.

I'm all for the Mass Effect universe living on well beyond the Shepard trilogy, but if it does I think Bioware should be creative and come up with new threats and new villains. It would also be a way to keep the universe fresh, rather than having the story always be about organics struggling against the sentient machines that want to destroy them.

It will probably be similar to the end of Mass Effect 2, but with fleets and armies instead of crew members. If you finish without the support of enough forces or lose too many to your own stupid decisions, the galaxy is screwed, and it will be all your fault. No idea how the Reapers will be defeated specifically, but I'm almost certain they'll use this mechanic.
