Would anyone else like another Non-Shepard mission?

Best moments of that game, in my opinion, were choosing the two companions who did the rescue and watching how they accomplished it. (One set dressed up in carnival outfits to talk their way into the keep, one set dressed as nuns, etc. The set with the dog doing the talking was priceless!)
So, I am all for it. When I did the Joker bit, I was laughing my ass off while running him through the area. When the Husband was doing that part, I kept hearing him yell, "Oh sh***! Oh sh***! Gonna die! Cra*!"

You sure it wasn't the "lets pack all 12 squadmates into the shuttle" segment that broke the old immersion wajamacallit?
In all fairness, the codex claimed the shuttle could hold that many.

But it worked in ME2. What made the scene with Joker interesting for me was the sudden switch from a gun toting personification of asskickery to a guy who could snap his neck by sneezing too hard.
For the first time in the game, I was actually terrified by the enemies, because there was absolutely nothing I could do against them. The scene did a good job showing how dangerous the collectors are, and made Shepard and the team look more badass because they can handle them.
However, I think it is something that works only once. Doing the same thing again just would not have the same impact. Maybe a DAO style rescue mission would be nice, but playing again as Joker or any other helpless character would probably just be boring.

It would be cool if you were doing a covert mission as Anderson and had to make sure that no one knew anything was up. Then Udina stops you in the corridor along with some of his council buddies and starts yammering on about something and every line came up with a possible Renegade Interrupt (for extra points, after the first couple of lines it should turn to "blah blah blah, outrage, blah blah blah"). Taking the interrupt might harm the mission but could you resist?Kaiser Shepard wrote...
Only if we're allowed to play as Anderson this time.
I don't know if it's really confirmed that he's dead even then, he falls behind some crates and you don't see him again but it'd be great if he turns up anyway (still thinking he's a biotic god and believing that he actually killed all of the bad guys). That'd be pretty great and it'd save Renegades missing out on a cameo as well (he should appear for Paragons too but with different circumstances).AbsolutGrndZer0 wrote...
Biotic God? ROFL He was hilarious! Though I sent him into the room usually.
If they do a non-Shepard mission I would prefer to have dialogue choices. A Conrad mission would be particularly great and he could get Charm and Intimidate options too (maybe depending on how you treated him in ME2). Someone else mentioned that the reports of his death could have been wrong for people that let him or didn't import, that'd be a good way to make sure no one misses out (and if someone says they thought he was dead he can say "I got better").

I'm aware of that. I'm referring to the entire sequence as a whole.
It's not that they fit into the shuttle. It's that they all went at once. And once they get to their mysterius unknown location Sheaprd would pick only 2 to come with him while the rest hanged back on the shuttle and played card games. Shepard has never had any problems before picking his team beforehand. It was just so contrived to the point that they completely spoiled the scene. It was obvious that something was going to happen and that Bioware needed to take the muscle out of the picture. Sadly, their writters didn't bother to utilize any writting skill whatsoever.
It would have been much better if they received multiple distress calls and had to spilt up into 3 or 4 different locations on a planet. And while on this decoy mission (on the ground in the thick of it) the collector ship attacks. Afterwards you still have to continue the mission and at the end get the message about what happened.

It wasn't the number of people in the shuttle. It was the fact that every combat-capable crew member decided to leave the Normandy on some phantom mission at the exact moment when the Normandy was at the highest level of vulnerability. It just seems out-of-character for professionals like Shepard and Lawson to take risks like that, especially since you never took more than 2 other squad members anywhere else. That whole segment was contrived and poorly executed.

This would have worked so much better. Alternately, you could also have a situation where you receive a distress signal from a human colony. However, once you get to the planet, you find that everything is under control, there are no Collectors, and none of the colony administrators are aware that a distress call was sent. Then you receive a message from EDI....

No. I disliked the Joker mission. WTF? I'm Joker now?
Snapped me right out of the game. Broke the old "immersion" wajamacallit.

Yeah, that too.
And the bizarre absence of seeker swarms.
But also, I didn't like suddenly being someone other than Shepard. I'd prefer they stick to Shepard. Playing another character in a DLC might be cool, but in the main game I don't want to suddenly switch characters three-quarters of the way into the game. Done that late, and done as a one-time-thing, it breaks the fourth wall.

So you basically want Call of Duty: Mass Effect.Hell yeah! I want to play as a Russian Spetsnaz during the Reapers invasion of Russia, then as the British sniper in London, then as a turian soldier on Palaven, then as a salarian STG,then as a volus mercenary,etc...
And space combat,I want to control the Normandy/Joker.

So for example, Thane would be stealthing his way up the Dantius towers, with the mission ending at the same point he meets Commander Shepard in the game. Tali on Haestrom, Garrus on Omega, Jack winding up on the pergutory, Samara on Illium, and Legion on the Reaper all work as well. Grunt doesn't work for obvious reasons, Miranda and Jacob fighting aboard the Lazarus station might work, but Mordin would need something a bit more exciting than treating patients. A STG mission on tuchanka perhaps? The events of Liara recovering Shepard's body would also be good. Actually, that would have been a great "Dead Rising - Case Zero" pre game dlc.
