So I recently bought Dragon Age Ultimate Edition, which I am loving, and after completing Origins, I decided to check out how my decisions would affect DA2, didn't play very far, but I do remember something I noticed about Anders. I am probably wrong but I think this is correct:
- DA:O occurs during a year.
- Dragon Age Awakening happens 6 months after the defeat of the Archdemon.
-DA2 starts while Hawke is running away from the darkspawn at Lothering.
- Act 1 is one year after the darkspawn destroyed Lothering and the Archdemon has been defeated. You recruit Anders during Act 1.

So, how was Anders in Kirkwall? I might be misinterpreting everything, but I find this very confusing :(
Also sorry if this has been posted before and I'm sorry if you didn't understand anything I said

There is a gap between when the Hero first meets Duncan and Lothering is actually demolished by the Horde. There is gaps of months there. Basically saying it could be argued that Anders would have had just enough time to maybe step inside an Eluvian to arrive in Kirkwall to meet hawke. What truly doesn't fit in the entire scenario is a few things.

1. How long does it take for the Hero to complete the story that is Awakening?

2. Obviously you can't believe every Codex since his appearance in DA2 screws that pooch to.

3. There is no way the timeline fits for the Dalish to be there already between how long Merrill says they've been at Sundermount compared to if Mahariel made the ultimate sacrifice.

But there is a clarification of sorts. Act 1 is a year from when HAWKE arrives at kirkwall. Keep in mind a few things here. The Horde does not take out Lothering until the Hero has completed one of the Treaties. Which is a gap of time for the "Year" it takes to kill the Arch Demon. On top of that it's not an instant travel by land and boat to get to Kirkwall. So you can add probably a good amount of time to that to. Months even if they really wanted to push it. The boat may not have even been already docked for Hawke to get on. Could have been waiting for one to arrive...

Ya the time line for Anders doesnt make any sense to me either. Mb this does prove it isnt the cool bean DAA Anders in kirkwall! mb he is like flemeth and in two places at once? Plus the justice thing dont forget..... he stayed in Kristoff's body until the decay made aurora run away.... so.... O yes and if the Hero left denerim to begin the Amaranthine quests , there is no way all that storyline could have been accomplished by less than 6 months. SO ya, the time line ....... musta had one of those necklaces the kid in The Potter movies had...

Truly the iffy part is "How long does it to take from killing the first Disciple at Vigil's Keep to killing the Mother in her lair?" That could be a while "maybe" but it is still shakey ground. There are also too many variants on the epilogues to allow for them to continue timelines and story progression. That is why DA2 didn't have a long epilogue. The epilogues were sort of interesting at first but in the end I didn't find reading them as more fulfilling. I mean it meant some decisions were more "Sugar Happy Fun Time" solutions. Like giving 5g to the scared sister and the little the boy for their Dad's sword means she'd end up marrying Teagan. That seemed fine to me. Even if he was kind of cradle robbing. But I didn't miss the epilogues being gone in DA2.

The epilogues are basically rumors that are not necessarily true. This is fine to me. Some of them were pointless and it's not like we truly got many options about them. It was just like maybe having an extra paragraph or 2 cause you did an extra quest. Read them, forget them and then most probably just skip past them every other play through later. A waste that truly doesn't add weight to the game or my character to me.

He seemed to have went through a time machine like Marethari's clan. They were in the Brecilian Forest at the start of the Blight, and they somehow manage to spend 3 years in the Free Marches prior to recruiting Merrill...WTF?!

Damn you time machines!
