So I beat ME2 a while back and noticed that, at the end, Shepard didn't smile at the picture of Ashley like the wiki said he would. I did some digging and it seems that a huge number of people got the same cutscene I did, where Shep looks at the pic then cracks his knuckles like a schoolboy with only one person saying they got the smile.
So as far as I can tell I stayed faithful to Ashley throughout my ME2 playthrough, I didn't do anything even remotely close to flirting with any of the other ladies. Anyone have their own input for this? I had really hoped to have Shepard carry that unwavering torch for Ashley in my storyline and was wondering if some random dialogue option totally FUBAR'd it.

I think you did it right. At least, I hope you did because that was the same way my Shep who romanced Ash acted before the final scene. Although, you may want to move this to the ME2 forums to avoid it getting locked, or at least tie it in to ME3 somehow.

I think that's just a glitch. I know some PS3 players randomly got... Liara, I think, even if they chose not to romance anyone using Genesis.

I don't think you've got anything to worry about. The only one I got with my Shep smiling was Liara, the Ash one was always a knuckle crack.

I killed my ME1 LI on Virmire to give my Shep a dramatic reason to start acting more Renegade. Am I a bad person for that?

It's supposed to be a sad momet, Shep going into the unknown, not knowing if s/he will return.
My canonshep romanced Liara using Genesis(PS3) and Shadowbroker DLC, she just looked at the picture with a sad, determined, expression. No knuckecrack, no smile, no nothing.
In my third run i had shep romance no one from ME1 because i wanted him to Talimance, he didn't have no picture.
The fourth run I'm on now has a hawt romance triangle with Ash, Miri and Kelly.. Hope that pay up in some unique way, that be either sad megabreakup or happy reunion with some catfighting, even with Kelly in the bunch

I got the sad expression, followed by a determined look and her walking purposefully off. I liked it, it was like she was thinking about Liara's reaction to Shepard dying again... then said 'No. I'm living, dammit.'

I wonder, could it make a difference if you're a paragon or renegade Shep? I could imagine a paragon giving the sad expression while a renegade thinks"This****kicking's for you, (insert LI here)

I was loyal to Liara except for when I fiddled with Kelly. Got the smiling at the picture scene and Liara never threw anything back in my face during LoTSB. Hope I get away with it. Don't want anything getting in the way of the big relationship payoff in ME3. Does anyone know if there are any save game flags for the Kelly romance? If there isn't then I'm cool.

Since the little fling with Kelly doesn't award you with the paramour achievement I don't even think it's flagged as a romance. It's just that.. a quick fling. I usually just have some dinner with Kelly so she'll feed my fish, nothing more. Always romance Liara and stay loyal to her, she doesn't say anything about another romance in Lotsb.
