[Aleenik]

What's the story behind your username? How did you come up with it?

First I must say, I have an extremely hard time coming up with names and an even harder time picking a name that I like. Whether it be for a game character, forum account, or anything really. Recently I have begun to use my real name some in things because I just can't find a name I like. I also OCD big time over names that I don't like or feel that I might not like in the future, including Aleenik. Aleenik though seems to hold some promise for me.

Besides the story, I think it's neat that Aleenik has 7 letters, just as my first name Zachary (I go by Zach) does. Also, I think it's neat that the first letter in Aleenik is an A, which is obviously at the beggining of the alphabet, while the first letter in Zachary is a Z, which is obviously at the end of the alphabet. Neither of those things went into making Aleenik though, they just happened.

I didn't fully come up with Aleenik per say, I had some help. Basically, a while ago when I was trying out SWG (I played like 1 day then eventually I tried it again for another day) I was using the random name generator and one of the names was Alenic (Spelled something like that, I forget if that is how it was spelled exactly) and I forget the last name that the generator came up with. Well, I always pronounced the name a certain way, but the spelling just didn't seem to match how I wanted it to be pronounced. The spelling seemed to make the name out like it would be pronounced like the name Alan with an ick on the end. So I went through a few variations of the name over time. I even contemplated going with the Alenic pronunciation, but settled on the Aleenik pronunciation. Other variations that I came up with (Only 2 different pronunciations though) were Alenik, Alenick, Aleenic, Aleenick. I ended up going with Aleenik though, because I thought it looked the coolest. I pronounce it like saying the letter a, then lee, then nick. Put it all together and you have Aleenik.

So ya, that's the story of how Aleenik came to be.

My username is the same as my RL nickname, which is pronounced "zev-wock" and it means "cadaver" in literary polish. I got it in uni- one of my roommates saw me having a nap after classes, lying flat on my bed with one arm dangling freely, looking very corpsey.

My username is a very old form of my real name. Chuonrath - Conrad - Kurt.
It means "the keen counselor". Together with my middlename, I'm the "keen counselore, famous in the army"

I just made mine up. It was a character name going back to Baldur's gate for an elf rogue/mage. I later brought the character back for NWN and it's a potential character I might include in a story I am writing. It stuck with me, and it's association with the first Bioware games I enjoyed made it prevalent for making an account on the BSN forums.
