My user name is basically my nick name (e=3, x just to make it a bit longer and i because I screwed up a bit). I do have other usernames too but this is the most common for gaming related stuff (without 'i').

Sinmara is the name of a female warrior-mage from the old-norse mythology book "Edda".

The translation of the name and the background of the character is not clear. Mara can be a "dream" , other think the name come from the "great mare" (the big flood), some think others ....
She is a part of the great last battle, guardian of the sword and she is related to the underworld gods, maybe to Loki.

Just a wonderful name and the mix of mage and warrior fits.

My last name Mayfair comes from the books of Anne Rice about the Mayfair witches.

I took my name from the Vagner's Opera Gotterdammerung from the dwarf who could turn into a dragon. I have always loved elves and dragons. And in my next life I hope and prey I come back as an elf.

10+ years ago I had a regular D&D group, Ottemis was one of my tabletop chars.
I've retained alot of characternames from that era as usernames all over the net.
My favorite is actually Aelalcallorgan, but it's way too long to use for everything. Plus I was lazy =)

At first I called all of my characters Atli, or Aedan. Then I did some reading as a kid (note I was like 8 at the time). I read some books that revolved around elves, and I loved all the vowels in their names, so Irish sounding. Anyway, when I played guild wars for the first time, I was playing with the name creator and was just typing in random things, when Aiomon appeared. And it stuck.
