We know ME3 starts 6-12 months after the end of ME2. And we know most of the team isn't onboard the Normandy. In the trailers we saw Mordin in doing something on the Salarian home world. The VS has become a specter and garrus and Liara are with Shepard.
But where are all the others and what are they upto?
Your own ideas and things you learn from other sources are both welcome

Yeah wouldn't the whole killing 300,000 or so Batarians mean get your backside back quick smart, not oh well 6 months 12 months or whenever...take you time.

I'm just under impression that the 6-12 month pause between end of ME2 and ME3 is because Shepard is being detained if she/he answers the call to Earth after events of Arrival.

Still, that pause is a little hard to swallow, and a little hard to believe that Shepard's dirty dozen would just break up, knowing the threat, or do nothing and let Shepard be taken by Alliance.

Meh.

Still. Some of their locations are easier to predict than others. Mordin's we kinda know from the Demo.

I'm willing to bet Grunt is on Tuchanka (or Cerberus' lab rat).
Thane is likely catching up with Kolyat, unless Shep failed his mission. Then... well. I'm easily picturing him doing a Nessana job v2. 
I'm picturing Legion in Alliance custody for some reason.
Jacob could return to Alliance, but then again, he showed a lot of distaste for it during ME2...
Miranda could be in trouble/on the run from Cerberus and trying to protect Oriana, or working with them.
Kasumi is keeping a low profile. On Omega possibly? He comment about its alleys made me think she liked the station.
Zaeed is either hunting Vido or whipping Blue Suns back into shape. Or retired. His shadow broker dossier hinted he wished to, *laugh*.
Samara is back to being a justicar, somewhere in Asari space?
Jack... killing off Cerberus agents one explosion at a time is a possibility.
I could see Tali and Garrus sticking together, if Tali is exiled, but if not Tali could return to the Flotila and possibly made an admiral by the time Shepard is free of beuracractic BS on Earth.
Garrus... visiting family? His dossier mentioned ill mother and his sister seeking treatment with the salarians, so he's possibly on Salarian homeworld too.

Rheia nice suggestions. Lot of posiblities beacuse there are many ways to do ME2 missions. I guess we'll have to wait and see
