Carth wasn't in KOTOR II much but the time he was - where he wasn't being all official as the Admiral and all - was one depressed dude with Revan gone. Quite sad really especially for a FemRevan...Thane had some sort of spirtualness to him. Carth was just empty in K2.Made Nightwing wrote...
Carth was definitely more sarcastic and snarky IMO. I didn't play KOTOR II, but I heard his character was almost like Thane.
(This is pretty much Carth's story in K1/k2 concerning the romance subplot. With some dramatic music with it.)

It doesn't help that the game files and the Genesis comic themselves mispell Kaidan's name.Made Nightwing wrote...
I just don't understand where the misspelling came from.

The game itself spells it wrong sometimes. In my English version for the 360, every now and again the subtitles say "Kaiden" instead of "Kaidan". It drives me crazy.
Hm, this would be why I used to spell it "Kaiden" too, then.

Not Kaiden. There is no E anywhere in his first name. It is a freaking A! KaidAn Alenko. UNDERSTAND?!

He's not. If it wasn't for the voice actor people would never be saying this and would say Thane is Carth 2.0Gunderic wrote...
He is similar to Carth. I wasn't aware this was cause for some kind of spat.

It's not, really. It's just that if you've been following the series since before the first game's release, the "Kaidan is Carth" jokes stopped being funny or cute in 2007.

I think it's a bit petty.. there are alternate spellings of every name.

Yeah, "Kaiden" is all over the promotional material for the first game, in the subtitles, the Genesis comic, and about half of the ME dev posts, so this is understandable. Then there are the people who know perfectly well how to spell his name, they just don't care or they hate him and want to annoy his fanbase. And yeah, I've seen people who admitted that this was their sole reason for doing it.

I swore Kaidan was channeling Carth on Horizon. I expecting him to bust out with "Oh Shepard, you are a terrible Commander and I can't trust you, or anyone, ever again!" Carth drove me crazy in KOTOR.
As for misspelling Kaidan's name, it really only bothers me when people claim they are "hardcore Kaiden fans". It's just as annoying when I'm browsing Vampire Diaries articles/FB posts, and people keep gushing about how much they love a character... while constantly spelling their name incorrectly. Really, if you love a character that much, you would know how to spell their name properly.
