Your Dog.

Obviously.

Not at all.  My dog keeps vanishing on me.  Sure, he comes back, but I'm always finding myself halfway through a combat and suddenly realize I forgot to summon him.

I did. He's a bleeding lier and a backstabber.

he never betrayed hawke. he acted alone which is very different, but he never made any pretences about his convictions for mage rights and stuck to them the whole game. he is an increasingly desperate man who is pushed into a corner. none of which is relevant for this thread so i'll shut up on the subject.

but you can still run off into the red glowy sunset with him and he stays by hawkes side - so he qualifys for love interest loyalty as much as any of the others

And, IMHO, the fact that Anders was willing to sacrifice everyone and everything in Kirkwall (including himself) in order to give mages a shot at freedom, EXCEPT Hawke (by keeping him in the dark about the true nature of his plans, thus making sure that he would be the only one to take the blame for it) was another proof of love / loyalty.

Er, actually he does betray your trust by asking you put together the ingredients for a "potion" when in fact it was the ingredients for the bomb he used to blow up the Chantry. [Edit: Also, not wanting to tell Hawke exactly why he/she needs to distract the Grand Cleric also doesn't speak of "trust" and "love" to me. Trying to protect Hawke? Sure, perhaps...but I don't see a whole lot of trust there.]

Anders was always honest about what his priorities were (gotta respect that), but Hawke was never #1...the mage's plight was always #1 in his heart. Even if you go off with him into the sunset he still makes it clear that Hawke is going to be giving up everything for him, not the other way around.

Anders betrays Hawke. Anders blindly ignores costs, he's justice/(vengance if you like) and lies to Hawke so he can put together a bomb that destroys the chantry, kills those in it and likely those around it too. He jeapordizes everything he beleives in and once stood for so his actions will have effect.
Because justice is what he is he cannot wait and let time claim his goal for him, but Anders never truly fights it.

It is true that Anders warns Hawke throughout the game, but that is no excuse.
The betrayal started at Anders' recruitment.

Pleasant day to you too. Image IPB

You're welcome.

Even though i hate him for his betrayal, i still miss the old Anders. Him not being possessed by Justice might've been more boring, but at least he wouldn't have bothered with that stupid chantry and the whole pack would just be merry as we kill Meredith. Even Seb.

having anders as a revolutionary without justice involved would have made the character better, but unfortunately because he is an abomination he loses credibility. although that was probably the idea. no one in kirkwall has the sanity to advocate for anything; including hawke!!it wouldn't have been more boring - we'd have gotten a whole lot more amusing snark in conversations  :P

Perhaps. And perhaps he would never had gone to Kirkwall is justice didn't compel him to go resque Karl.

I'd have to go with Varric, because he stayed with my Hawke for some reason I can't understand no matter what, because he was about the only character I liked. I could say the same for Aveline perhaps if I didn't feel she completely betrayed my Hawke, which is the feeling I got near the end of second act, but I guess my Hawke liked her even if I as a player didn't and was loyal to her and got loyalty from her in return.. or something.
