Hello,
This conversion sounds really great. Unfortunately my problem is that when I'm trying to save my game, the game crashes. I was looking for possible solutions but after couple of experiments, problem doesn't go away. Is there any answer to this ?
Thx in advance.

I have never had that problem. It may simply be you using Windows 7, that is the leader of the technical problem body count. If you are, make sure that both BG2 and Icewind Dale 2 can be played and saved normally. There may be issues if either game is installed into the Program Files directory.
You can't have any BG2 mods installed when you do the conversion to create Icewind Gate 2, that may complicate things.
Also, I use the Delta version by Nameless One, not the buggy Beta version.

Thx for fast reply. I'm using win xp and Delta version. Both games are working fine, also I have no mods installed. I had installed both of them couple of times in different directories (same partition ofc) but with no results...If anyone have any idea please share it.

The only other thing I can think of is Administrator priviliges, an occasional hassle.
The crashing sounds like write-protected save files but I don't know how this would happen, unless you moved save files from one PC to another.
Check icewind2.ini to make sure that the drives are correctly referenced, they should be.

Would you ever consider making a video of your project in the forseeable future?

I don't have video gear and it still needs fixing, screenshots will do just as well. It needs someone who is better at Infinity Engine programming than me, that it is what it really needs.

Still, if you managed to get this much done, it's damn impressive. If we could get the word out to more experienced modders, then this project of yours will soar.
That said, is this playable without any real issue (alongside your mods) or should I wait a while longer?

It is playable now but you can't use the Bioware NPCs without causing a really nasty slowdown in some dungeons. A slowdown I don't understand and can't fix.

Have you tried adding generalised biffing (not sure how/if it works with IWG but works a treat with Tutu/BGT performance-wise)

I am not a modder so I don't know what generalized biffing means. We really need to find a modder to handle this, someone who knows how do a mod.
Scrolling is only lousy when you use the Bioware NPCs, and only lousy in some dungeons. Using no NPCs I was able to complete the game without problems.

I am not a modder either, all you have to do is download it, extract to your game folder and run the executable. Quotes from links below "This WeiDU mod allows you to biff your game's files for improved performance."

"Can I install Generalized Biffing on Icewind Dale HoW for example?"
"I think so."

I will have to try this at some point. Here and now I am doing about three things at once. Here and at the FRUA forum.
Performance of IWG2 is good even with NPCs except for a few dungeons.

IWD & IWD2 has well recordered issues with certain anti-virus programs that use any behaviour shields i.e. can cause them to crash to desktop. The solution is normally achieved by adding exemptions.

Does anyone know if this mod functions with any of the other BG2 mods such as the darkest day and Soubar?
Also, has it been multiplayer tested?

Other mods, I don't know about. We need to talk to Nameless One because he wrote the Delta version of the mod. I can't contact him. (IWG2 Readme is in Chinese!)
I suspect that you cannot have BG2 mods installed at all, when you are installing Icewind Gate 2. After the installation I simply don't know about.
Certainly I had no mods installed when I ran the IWG2 conversion.
I am not aware of any multiplayer IWG2 games.
