I actually had a lot of respect for Udina up until he backstabbed me. Didn't dislike him at all.

I had no respect for Udina until he backstabbed me, showed that he wouldn't compromise his position on faith and always seeks to place his position (which is also humanity's position) over one man's supposed "delusions".

I think it just shows he hates Shep.

Udina is great for comic relief, I'm hoping we'll see more of him in ME3.   I can't remember who suggested it (sorry), but the image of Udina angrily piloting the Destiny Ascension (or perhaps some similar human ship if the DA was destroyed) into battle is hilarious.

Udina is the canon counselor. Before that was established I picked him anyway. This is why...

2 needed more Udina-Shep interaction.

So true. I love the p*ssing contest you can get in with him after your meeting with the council.

We all come up with (sometimes silly) justifications for our actions in mass effect. Mine for the councilor seat was always, "If Anderson was a rejected Spectre candidate (regardless if the council knows or even cares Saren botched it up) there's no way he'll be taken seriously. They may not take Udina seriously, especially with Anderson going over his head in 2 with the council meeting but he is going to bite back. Shep says something in the Genesis comic and I'm paraphrasing "Sometimes you need a pitbull on your side"  I love to "love to hate" the man more than any other fictional character and its truly an outrage.

Agreed.

And only 3 pages? I'm sick of this forum and its anti-Udina bull!

He's a dick, but he gets things done.

That's disputable. From what Jacob said, Anderson is probably a better politician than he is.

"You have to wonder whether he's done enough for humanity."

The stupid part is, Miranda had just said "He's done a lot for humanity's interests." I'll take Miranda's word over Jacob's any day.

At least Udina has been getting things done. I made Anderson the councilor thinking he'd do just that and am regretting it bitterly. And if he's really idiot enough to stay on Earth during the invasion then I owe Udina a sincere apology.

I support Udina. I'd be interested to know if there are any tangible differences in ME3 from picking Anderson or Udina. Ie, Udina being a more effective negotiater and political operator might pay off for a favour with a minor species. But then Anderson being a military man may have solicited an extra dreadnaught or something.

You know, there's one thing I've always wondered about Udina: What the hell is that accent?
I've been trying to figure it out since the first game. It is utterly maddening. >.>
