Jane Shep is my main playthrough btw. Im not against her, I am simply suggesting that unlike the marketed MaleShep Bioware has more scope with her. If you check the maleshep art a good portion of it is still the marketed shep because he has the associated "iconic" name along with him. You dont see default Jane that often, which I consider a good thing as it makes the image of femshep far more diverse.

I am merely suggesting there is potential for her to be remodelled as the media and the fans haven't made default Jane the pure focus of attention. I would be happy if Jane was still there, but I think Bioware are in a unique position where they can remodel her if they wish and it really wouldn't be damaging as she doesnt have a set iconic image.

In the "Femshep shouldn't be white" thread on this board, Chris Priestley has stated that his understanding is that they're using the default Femshep as a base, which would make sense, so whilst she might get a more distinct face, one that doesn't look so "FaceGen", she'll still be a very tough-looking redhead with pale skin and a slightly upturned nose.

Of course Chris Priestley has been known to be wrong, but thats what he said.

She's not as iconic as Sheploo, I'd agree, but I suspect an awful lot of the 20% of people who use Femshep used her for their main playthrough, especially as she's not as annoying to some people as Sheploo is. I know used her too. She's iconic *enough* that there are default forum icons for her, for example.

Yeah I saw that post earlier. From the way Chris wrote it, it sounds like he was in the know and it wasn't some random speculation. So you may be right Eurhetemec. Plus the feedback the fans gave was essentially describing Jane Shep anyway. So yes it could be that they simply decided to touch up Jane a little and give her better textures and some more impact.

But I still stand by the fact I think Bioware are in a unique position where they could remodel her if they wish. They really aren't tied down at all with her. At the end of the day im happy with whatever they choose! As said Jane my main play. Getting on the CE and having a trailer is fantastic and in no way do I want to sound picky. I just feel there is an advantage they can use here if they want to.

Yep, sounds like they are hard at work at it.  Originally they planned it for E3, but I think they sat down and decided to  put some work into it and make it special :)

Even if your not a femshep fan, im sure they will put something in the trailer to attract to all fanbases.  New game footage ect.  Im just speculating of course, but its exciting.

I really do hope they redo the default Jane Shepard, by actually scanning the face of a model. For those that prefer the original, they could still import it, or grab it in the presets. But I'd want a face that's on part with the default male shep, who's way more detailed them any custom Shepard could ever be.

don't they usually model them after the voice actors?

No. In fact it's totally uncommon: https://twitter.com/...728061324627968

It would be funny if they did.  Raphael Sbarge is kind of a weird looking dude.

I read the article where they mentioned that the collector's version will have femShep on it - is that in addition to Shepaloo or is there going to be two separate versions? Don't want to accidentally pre-order the wrong one!

I really wish they'd make the "new" femShep face a blonde...think about it, there are really no prominent female blondes in Mass Effect. There are a handful of redheads (Kelly) and many brunettes (Miranda, Lilith, others) and black-haired females, but no real blondes. Tis sad, because I'm a blonde...lol. Maybe she could be a strawberry blonde since the default is already a redhead?

He was Mike Jonas on Star Trek: Voyager (Second Season) if anyone wants to see what he looks like. He also sounds very whiny as that character, not cool and sexy like Kaidan. :)

I read somewhere in the Mass effect universe that blond hair was quite rare that would be nice a blond haired female lead but I'd rather a really beautiful made character rather then just an average woman

That would make sense since the blonde gene is recessive and we're talking almost 200 years in the future, but red hair is also recessive, I believe.

I also want her to look great, as well...not the "Plain Jane" (pardon the pun) that they've got right now, no matter what her hair color is.

For the record yes, red is very recessive, moreso than blonde.

It doesn't mean they don't use hair dye in the future. Almost everyone does now.

 I was wondering...
This pic was on RockPaperShotgun. Is that the new Shepard? If not, does somebody recognize her? You know what I mean ...;)

Making a better Default Fem-Shep is cool and all; but I would like to see better customizable feature sets for the male and female Custom-Sheps. Most of the custom characters that I've seen look pretty generic and mostly look the same. I wish there was more variety and better quality of that variety as well. I think it's lame that secondary characters like Miranda and The Illusive Man look better than our custom characters look. If the game was in first-person most of the time it wouldn't matter as much. But they show our characters interact with everything in 3rd-person looking like crap.

hence sheploo is the better looking version for male Shepard

Yeah, but if they're going to give us crappy custom features and only let the Default characters look good then why bother letting us customize Shepard at all.

I will say that I did enjoy the fact in Dragonage 2 there was a default male and female Hawke. Though I think in ME3 its too late. I hardly play male shep but if I think about it in my head I always think of the Male Shep Model cause they have used that for so long.

I don't think customization is going to be a issue for most, let alone default. As nearly everyone that has played ME2, which should make up at least 75% of sales, will have an import anyway.

I was so hoping that femshep would be blonde.  Unfortunately we lost out to popular opinion and the twitter trends favoured red haired femshep over blonde haired femshep.  We had our chance and blew it :crying: ah well such is life, democracy really sucks sometimes :P

Well, that sucks! Where was I when this poll was taken? :pinched: There are NO blondes in ME...I protest. Lol.

After David Silverman announced their intention to do a femshep trailer he asked people what colour hair femshep should have :-

David SIlverman wrote ..... Lots of love for #FemShep. Now the real question, is she blonde, brunette, red head??? #ME3

That was posted on the 26th May and as things progressed there was a clear trend towards a red haired femshep :-

David Silverman wrote ..... hearing a lot of #Redhead comments for #FemShep default. Blonde and Brunette fans need to step it up! #ME3

David Silverman wrote .... Ok, so #FemShep is looking to be a #Redhead due to tweets I've received. Now onto eyes - blue, brown, green, other??? #ME3

Thus femshep will be a Redhead, I would've loved her to be a blonde but at the end of the day the blondes didn't make enough noise on twitter :(
