This problem might have occured earlier,
but some of the topics are so messy I couldn't find an answer.

I installed my Dragon age II, with AVG off.
I wanted to play and a black dos-box pops up and off and then nothing happens

Now I changed to directx 9,
Same thing happens

In both scenario's my AVG is off and not working
I'm playing with a Vista  32 bits (and the rest I have no clue, but I'm capable to play the game)
I have reinstalled several times also.

Thanks for helping me, it means alot to me!

Greetings

this is the advice given...for the pathway in my case I had to type it in, cos it was a hidden file, once the pathway was created, I went to the mtka_tmp and clicked on the Activation Application the screen looking pic not the face...and it did the release date check.

I've FINALLY solved my problem. The
reason why Windows 7 was saying that it was incompatible with the dragon
age2.exe file was, I think, because of my AVG blocking the dragon age2
activation and listing it as a Vundo virus.

Now, what I did was I
went to AVG settings, went to the "exceptions" tab under Resident
Shield then added this line to the "add path" tab:
C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalTempmtka_tmp

That should unblock the activation application. After that I just authenticated and activated my copy of DA2.

Hope this helps!

P.S. Dunno if this helped too, but I downloaded and installed the Nvidia beta drivers too.

Do not forget to activate afterwards!
Go to the map and press: dragonage2_activation

Look inside:

My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age 2\\Logs

identify the latest log file and see if any errors are reported.
