For players that are looking for the best badass Shepard, Renegade Interrupt is probably more satisfying than Intimidate.

Why?? Because they are so much cooler.

Well, let's take a look at some good examples in ME2:

1. Recruiting the Krogan-----Korlus, where you encountered a bleeding merc, his friends are trying to find him on the comm link

Renegade Interrupt :
Shepard told the merc not to answer, and shoved a gun in his face. Before the merc managed to reply via comm,  Shepard put a bullet in him.

Intimidate:
Shepard used some low but firm words to make the merc reply with bad directions. This makes the battle later a bit more casual, but that's all. No bleeding event in the conversation.

2. Thane's Loyalty Mission----Citadel, where you and Thane are trying to interrogate a man(sry forgot his
name, but guess you all know what I'm refering to):

Renegade Interrupt :
Shepard plays the bad cop, beating the man to get the answer----3 times in total. Out of fear, the man came up with the answer and fell unconcious(sort of bleed out).

Intimidate:
Shepard still played the bad cop, but this time she/he used only a few words, and got the answer with no violence. This is the shortest interrogation possible, by the way.

3. Opening the tank of Grunt: Shepard is releasing Grunt on Normandy's cargo bay

Renegade Interrupt :
Shepard told Grunt to stand down. Grunt resisted and Shepard fired her/his gun (many bullets in there). With his mouth bleeding, Grunt claimed Shepard to be worthy, and is willing to fight for her/him.

Intimidate:
Shepard told Grunt to stand down. This time, she/he made it clear that Grunt
would find the meaning of his life by fighting for her/him. Grunt stood
down, and the problem is solved peacefully---in a way.

OK, as you can see,
Renegade Interrupt actually provides more difference and "strength".
Intimidate, while seeming cool, tends to solve the problem by reasoning-------in a way that's similar to Paragon Interrupt or Charm-----the peaceful and ordinary way.

As a Renegade player, I used to go always for the Red Buttons that is Intimidate, because I wanted some different solution than merely talking. Now, with some playthroughs that used Renegade Interrupt, I find those outcomes more satisfying to my taste.

So my conclusion----Renegade Interrupt >>> Intimidate~~!

But that's annoying me-----what's the point of accumulating my Renegade
Scores when they don't give me the new dialogs that are more compelling
than Interrupts?? Interrupts are something even Paragon players with 0 Renegade score can choose.
Renegades' special dialogs aren't actually the coolest for them.Posted Image

What do you think??

I didn't think there was an interrupt for Grunt, I might have to go and check that some time.

Anyway, I'd say they're all cases that show how much better Intimidate is.  Anyone can pull a trigger but if you intimidate someone they'll remember your awesomeness for the rest of their life.  Getting the shortest interrogation ever is brilliant and will leave more of an impression than just beating the suspect up.

I suppose interrupts are better if you consider violence to always be the most fun option, I like the variety the intimidate options provide and there's plenty of violence in the combat missions anyway.

Another good example is the Al-Jilani interview, interrupt just hits her but the intimidate option puts her in her place.  I guess that works either way depending on which you prefer.

I always use the intimidation option for the reporter. Shepard acts like such a hardass professional in the interview and makes her look like a fool. Besides, punching her is what she wants anyway. It's something she is probably used to.

She is, if you've seen the Shadow Broker videos.

Another good one is the mercenary standing near a window in Thane's recruitment mission.  It is kind of fun to push him (he is a little too cocky) but the intimidate changes his attitude quickly and works really well.

Most interrupts are either tactically advisable or just entertaining. But if there is a choice between interrupt and Intimidate, I go with the latter.

With the exception of off-hand shot at Korlus, that's just too good to pass up :D
