Mass Effect 2 suddenly crashing..?

Hello! I bought Mass Effect 2 maybe three-four months ago and I've been playing it since and it's been working perfectly. Today I started it up but exited the game after maybe 3 minutes because I needed to check out something on the internet. Anyhow, when I then tried to start the game only 4 minutes later it didn't work. After I clicked 'play' in the launcher as usual, I got notified by Windows that 'Mass Effect 2 has stopped working..' and such, and that windows couldn't find a solution. I just assumed that there was something small that went wrong, so I just tried to start it again. And the again. And so on for about sixteen times, yet it keeps crashing after I've clicked play. And i tworked PERFECTLY just 4 minutes before this, and I hadn't altered anything from those times. I had only put an USB stick (that I've used several times before) in and out of the computer once in between. Is there anyone that might know what might casue ME2 to crash all of sudden?

Have you rebooted? If not, you should have tried that first. If that doesnt work, post a full error report as per the "Read First" thread.

Thank you! A simple restart actually helped! 
Or well, kinda.. I don't know if it might be my computer, but it started lagging alot. I tried DA:O and tES: Oblivion quickly and both worked at highest quality without lag, but Mass Effect is still lagging with all graphical effects off, which it has never done before..? I don't know much of computers (so sorry if I'm kinda stupid..? xD) but is it normal that games suddenly start lagging like this? :s

DA:O has far lower system requirements than ME2, and I dont have Oblivion so dont know what hey are for thath. Best solution is to post your specs as per that thread I mentioned, and we can takle it from there. From the main menu, hit configure and give us the info thats listed under "Summary", as well as the file versions under the "Game" section. Dont list yuor product key, we dont need to know it.
