Yeah I am not sure if thats the way you would spell it. But games like Force Unleashed and Marvel ultimate alliance did it pretty good.
I am not saying have this type of thing in the game all the time, but let's just say you are fighting Kai Leng. To make it seem a bit more cinimatic (IMO), would it not be cool for you to bash a couple of buttons in que?
I don't want this to be pivotal to the gameplay, but a couple of small parts in the game would be pretty sweet.
Any thoughts?
Concerns?

I am not saying it should be in all the scenes one or two tops...
why is everyone so resistive to change here?

QTE's are played out and now Final Fantasy XIII-2 is including them, and they seem to have ripped the visual representation from The Lost Odyssey, who only had t
ot happen when you're trying to escape a sewer in a submarine.

Although, I guess you could say battle had them in the form of rings that activated converging rings when using physical attacks. But at least they didn't interrupt the flow of combat. I also hate how when you fail them, the enemies and bosses regain health and you got to deplete it again until you succeed or die. Or during cutscenes when it means Game Over.

Paragon/Renegade interrupts are more than enough, IMO.

I hate QTEs so much. Interrupts aren't so bad, but only because it's just one click that's on the screen a decent amount.

I suggested the same thing a long while ago, although I only see it being appropriate in the final battle with the Illusive Man.

One on one. Mano-a-mano. The interrupts don't necessarily cause you to win or lose, as Shepard inevitably always wins, but they would only influence the flow of the battle.

It's not change.  It's regression, at least in terms of video game trends.  There are times when a QTE is appropriate.  I'm not sure the Mass Effect series is in any need of QTE's though.

Personally, I find Quick-Time Events one of the most annoying gameplay elements ever invented. You're watching a cool cinematic action moment and suddenly you realize you're required to press a button repeatedly fast enough (aka "bash") in order to proceed with the game. If you fail, in most cases the cinematic resets and you have to repeat it over and over until you get it right. Especially true if the button, or button combination is randomized.

My advice, if you find QTEs cool or good enhancers of cinematic moments, play a game called Ninja Blade. It's bound to change your mind on the matter.

QTE is so lazy, its like pretend gameplay. I like the paragon/renegade triggers but its enough. Cut scenes are fine I don't need to pretend cut scenes are gameplay.

I am just saying it would have its place. I am sure bioware would do it wonderfully
but whatever, i am sure the game will be just as epic without it

Exactly.  When QTE's made a resurgence a few years ago, I couldn't help but think, "This isn't new.  This is old as hell."

No, just no...I can't stand games that force me to press button after button with no form of interaction whatsoever other than it continuing the scene.

I don't think you'll get much positive feedback since everybody is desperate at defending what little of outdated RPG trends there are left in Mass Effect. However, I'm sure any mechanic can be implemented correctly. I remember paragon/renegade interrupts being scolded for being 'QTEs in disguise' when they were first introduced.

Forced objectivity aside, personally I'm against that. I guess. You never know how said thing will be implemented.

The problem with QTEs in combat is that if you do not complete a certain amount of them, you die/lose...if you do not press an interrupt, you don't really lose...it goes on.
