Would they be better without the sound effect? It just sounds really out of place to me, maybe the icon should just flash green before it vanishes to signal a successful interrupt and just vanish if the moment passes.

With the news that they're working on improving the interrupts for ME3 to make them feel more organic, I hope this is taken into account.

I like the sound prompt myself.

Meh, I don't pay much mind to the sound.

It's not a big deal, I only just noticed it because I was playing through LotSB and there's 3 interrupts in a row.

But the little things add up, and the sound effect is just something that takes me out of the cutscene and reminds me I'm playing a game.

What? They play a sound? I honestly never noticed.

It could have been something with the programming that tied the same sound effect used when selecting a menu item, to clicking the mouse for interrupts.

I don't have a problem with it but I don't like the ringing part, it actually makes me want to do Renegade interrupts so that I hit someone to release my annoyance at the noise (especially when there are several close together, like the chatty Krogan).  Having the sound there is useful though, you don't even necessarily have to watch for them if you just listen.  I suppose the best way to deal with it would be to have an option to let people choose icon and/or sound (or neither if you like playing a guessing game of some sort or just hammering the button and hoping you get to hit someone or give them a hug).

Hmm, now I'm imagining a "hug" interrupt available for every situation.  That would be awesome.  "This is an outrage!" *hug* "This... This... Aww, I can't stay mad at you, curse you're negotiating skills!".

There was a sound effect that went with it? I never really noticed. I just wish that they weren't always Paragon/Renegade. Some of Renegade Shepard's interrupts were just smart. Headbutting Gatatog Uvenk was going with Krogan customs, something that a diplomat like Paragon Shepard would do.

Here's a video showing paragon interrupts so y'all can hear the noise I mean. Spoilers for ME2 of course.

You can still do some interrupts of the other "morality" without losing anything, you only potentially lose out if it cuts off an option that gives points of the "morality" you want and even then only if you make a lot of choices on either side (the leeway is bigger if you import an ME1 save and/or take the bigger Paragon/Renegade bonuses from your class skill).

You can't get 100% Paragon and 0% Renegade if that's what you're going for, there are some "free" points you can't avoid (such as when recruiting Mordin).  Still, you can at least get 100% Paragon decisions and 0% Renegade ones I suppose.

I always found the paragon interrupt sound jarring and out of place... good example is during Samara's loyalty mission... if you try to comfort the mother who's mourning her dead daughter with the paragon interrupt you get this loud "diiiiiiiing!" noise overlapping a very somber, emotional moment as shepard tries to comfort her.... it sort of kills the dramatic effect of the moment.

Same problem with Tali's loyalty mission when you do the interrupt to comfort/hug her... a tragic, sad & emotional moment partially ruined by an absurd sound you'd expect from a slot machine in a casino.

I don't need an audio to know I just pressed the damn button to interrupt... I'm the one who triggered the synapse in my brain that sent the signal down my arm to my finger to press the button... confirmation of said action was verified by eyes as I observed the scene being interrupted with my chosen act.... the sound is redundant.
