I'm really confused about the future mass effect movie. At first, (dissapointinly), I thought I heard that Mass Effect was going to be an anime film.

Then, recently I came across an article from May saying it wil be a live action film.

I also saw an article here

Which explained that the full feature film would be about the Human Turian contact war, which I think is a great move. This way, they don't have to wrestle with including all the Mass Effect storylines, and try to match the video game to the point that the film suffers. But still, I'm confused. Are there two films, one a blockbuster prequel and one a small (in comparison) time cartoon anime film?

It's being made into both, an anime and a live action film.

No, it's actually being adapted into the next big budget title from adult film producer Digital Playground.

In 1998 a pill was formed that produced substantial results in the bedroom and corrected e.d

They called it the greatest discovery in human history

The civilizations of the galaxy call it...

They're making two films. I wouldn't expect either of them to be all that great.

As long as the actual film has NOTHING TO DO WITH Shepard it will be fine.

Man I'm so excited. Mass Effect is one of my favorite franchises of all time, and I think if any video game has a chance to be good, Mass Effect fits the bill. They could still screw it up, but I think there's a pretty strong chance it will be the best video game movie ever (not that its that big of an accomplishment, but it's a start).

The movies are going to be stuck in development hell most likely, just like the Uncharted and Gears of War movies.

The uncharted movie just got reset when Sony fired the writer/directory. Apparently he came up with a script that deviated far too much from the game.

Ultimately, I think if you don't have someone talented and passionate behind a movie like this (Peter Jackson, Sam Rami) then you're probably just get something uninspiring and bland.

I'm not so sure. I didn't know there were films for those games (I don't have a play station 3 so I've never follow Uncharted and I don't like pure shooters), but Mass Effect is going to be produced by Avi Arad, who as far as I can tell does not have a history of not finishing films (and he has produced a ton). Considering its producer, it will probably be a big budget film and be given the attention it deserves.
They are in negotionts with Mark Protosevich to do the script, who, though not very experinced, did a good job with I am Legend.

You call that movie's writing a 'good job'?

I don't remember it that well, but for a rookie screen writer, sure.

I remember watching "I Am Legend" and wanting to punch something - it completely missed the point of the book. I remember thinking, "This one is going with the actual name of the book, I hope it doesn't suck..." And it didn't suck, for parts of the film but how could anybody MISS THE POINT SO BADLY?!

I haven't heard any new news on the ME movie for a while now. Hope it doesn't end up in production hell.

I didn't know it was based off a book. I don't think he'll be allowed to miss the point like that, as Casey Hudson is going to be one of the movies executive producers
