.Complete all crew loyalty missions as a Paragon, (or a very clever Renegade)
.Talk to said crew untill their "Resolve" is strong after completing said loyalty mission
.Mine for monotonous hours on end untill you have bought EVERY SINGLE upgrade
.Search every container in the hopes of scrounging up enough cash to purchase every store item in the hopes it improves your chances
.Try and figure out WHICH team mates to recruit in which order (Oh no! If i recruite Tali first, then i wont have enough time to gain Legion's loyalty, and the Doctor and crew will die)
.Decide how many side missions to hold on to, in order to spark conversations with the crew
And so on, and so on.....
Now i understand these are VERY heavy multiple choice situations, that give strength to the RPG elements of the game, and i am usualy for More, more, more when it comes to RPG elements, however. All of the above, REALLY made the game more of a chore instead of a fun experience. I am not saying we remove the last ounce of Role Playing vibe the series has left, i am just saying we take some weight of of sheps shoulders in the means of surviving the end of the game. If that means more story cut scenes and less running around, then i MIGHT be ok with it, but i seriously have no idea what the default end game plot will be.
SO, any ideas or suggestions on how the story should progress in the third game, that would be less stressful and more fun?

Do Tali's, Jacob's and Garrus's loyalty (or conversation option) first, do three upgrades (resources...>_<)
Do the rest of Loyalty missions.
Assign right jobs (easy and you don't need google to find out, just common sense)
Leave the stronger people for holding the line(common sense)
Done.

The best i have ever gotten is, everyone survives except Legion.

It's really not that hard. You only need the Normandy's shield, armor, and weapon upgrades, not *every* upgrade. Then do every loyalty mission before going to the dead Reaper and getting Legion. Do Legion's loyalty mission right afterwards then go through the Omega-4 relay. Send either Katsumi, Tali, or Legion into the vent, have Garrus or Miranda as the squad leader, send Mordin back with the crew and use Samara or Jack as the botic. That way everyone walks away from the suicide mission.
Oh my god!
Mordin ALWAYS dies unless you bring him with you and i was to stupid to send him back with the crew!
THANKYOU SIR!

Seconded.
What's the point with the game if I'm not gonna stress. We are at war and every decison you make should have an impact. This will make me think what I should do before I act.

But if you send Legion into the vent, and all you did was his loyalty mission but didnt talk to him enough after, wont he die anyway in the doorway?
I always have to talk to each character for them to not die.
What am i doing wrong?
Or thinking wrong that is?

Everything, apparantly.
You don't have to talk to them to keep them from dying.
Do all recruitment missions. Do all loyalty missions. Speak with Tali, Garrus, and Jacob for ship upgrades. Save Legion's recruitment mission for last(Reaper IFF).
And then just use logic when choosing who does what on the end mission.

They can keep the timed missions to themselves, though. I hate those missions.

The Suicide Mission was supposed to be dramatic and reflect your decisions. The average playthrough usually includes at least one death- that's normal and intentional. It's called a suicide mission for a reason, not a walk in the park.
Anyway, the other factors are really not that hard to understand. Ship upgrades are not for cosmetics, and you get numerous *nudge nudge, know what I mean* kinda hints along every step of the game.
It's really not complex or hard to accomplish.
edit: meh I knew I'd get ninja'd by someone.
