I think someone on the dev team mentioned squad armor customization.

Especially considering that not a single female squadmate in ME2 wore armor, that 4 out of 7 of the males did,  that all the confirmed ME3 squadmates that are male do wear armor, and so far, that none of the females have been seen wearing armor.

Well, how often do you see males using spandex?

3 out of the 7 male squadmates (counting legion as male here) didn't wear armor.

Jacob, Mordin, and Thane.  Of the 3, Jacob and Thane wore spandex, naturally because they were LIs. :?

Garrus, Zaeed, Grunt, and Legion wore armor, or at least looked like they were going into combat.

All the girls besides Tali, who was only marginally better in that regard, wore skintight catsuits at best.

"Squadmate Alternate Outfit Pack – New appearances for your favorite squad members."

I remember reading from somewhere that you can customize armors including squadmates armors or was it weapons?

So the sentense could mean just more different base type armors for squadmates.

I don't think Liara is such an offender in that category, though.

The worst in my opinion are Samara, Miranda and Jack. They're not even trying to hide it. Quite the opposite.

I was talking about ME2 squadmates.  Liara was decent, but she wasn't wearing armor, which is almost as annoying as wearing fetish gear into combat.

Then again, I think it's a little prejudging to assume that the AA packs will be the same as the ones in ME2, just because they share the same name.

The Alternative outfits could still be customiseable.

It's interesting that you count Legion as wearing armour, I wonder what people would say if the characters only wore a shoulder pad and nothing else.

Okay, I know that Legion is a collection of programs and most of what you see could be considered armour (plating and such) but I thought it was funny.

It's not so much wearing armor as it is that Legion looks as if it's ready to go into combat, despite that massive hole blown through it.  The female squadmates save Tali and Jack, look as if they're going clubbing, Jack's dressed like a prostitute, and Tali definiately does not look like she's ready to go into combat.

I'm counting it as male because it has a slightly masculine voice (and a male voice actor).

Like i said those outfits could be for Normandy appearances and non-combat areas like Ciatdel.,
