God I hope not. Even in ME2's broken up story they were annoying. Mission complete screens are completely out of place in the ME games.

It's like people are suddenly reminded that they're playing a game.

I know, it's just as shocking to me.

My God, I hope there will not be mission complete screens! It only adds to the shooter type game style.

No kidding.  I mean it's not like the game's supposed to be cinematic or anything, right? /sarcasm

I would like to see a return of the air lock being how you enter and exit the normandy, and the stuff detailed in the mission complete screens could be accessed through your personal terminal.

I also don't see why people are bothered whether its a loading screen or a lift, either way you still have to just wait and stare at nothing in particular while it loads.

does it add anything? or cant it be a screen i see when i hit start and look at the menu, instead of the mission complete screen?

you wouldnt lose anything if the mission complete screen was taken away and shepard utilized the decompretion chamber instead. thered be ALOT of people who would love not seeing a mission complete screen. i feel bad for you really that you arent immersed into ME.

I'm in favour of it being removed as well. I don't need a screen to tell me I've completed a mission. Like someone else suggested, if they really want a summary screen to be there then allow it to be accessed from Shep's terminal. That way it is a lot more organic.

No, I'm not getting upset over something as trivial as a screen with a mission summary. There's a difference.

I don't think there's a problem if the game reminds me...that I'm playing a game.

I certainly hope they're gone,  nothing was a bigger reminder that you were now playing a TPS than the fact that you get pushed to a "Level complete" screen and get a fixed amount of experience,  just to rub in the fact that you and the next guy are absolutely identical no matter what you do.

But I'm guessing they're in,  because Norman made a point of saying they're not doing Xp-per kill,  which means it'll still be fixed amounts at the end of missions,  and they'll need some way to communicate it to the player.

Plus,  they didn't back off on any other their other horrible ideas,  like Planet Scanning,  I'd guess they didn't figure out why this one was bad either.

Gosh, this makes me sad because it's probably true.

I quite like how they seem to be implementing the planet scanning in 3.

The only reason I was put off mission complete screens was that it took away the decompression/air lock part of entering and exiting the normandy, it was a feature that made sense.

If you remember the way they implemented mission complete screens in the first game was to have a conversation with the council that re-capped the mission for you, and by far the best thing about that was that it was optional.

i loved those screens

I only care for them because it really showed TIM's true colors.  That guy is a complete d-bag and those comments on the mission reports proved that.

Espeically the LotSB mission screen.  Why does TIM need to keep an eye on Liara's relationship with Shepard?  LI or not.

I liked the music that played on the screen and the info was really fun to look at and felt good but sometimes it ruined immersion and really wasn't necessary all the time.

There are people who love that screen? huh wierd.

I figured both the shooter and "rpg" fans would find it too distracting. *shrugs*

I think they did it perfectly in Mass Effect 1.

well i absolutely hate it. if you dont really have a problem with it, why not let it go, or let it instead be placed in the options menu?

just like elevators, entering/exiting the decompresion chamber is one of the "small" things ME3 needs.

I think instead EDI or Joker should tell you what resources, mods, and weapons you've gathered over the intercom.

Good idea.

I'm pretty sure one of the tweets from someone at Bioware said they're doing things to minimize loading screens. Casey Hudson also said something like "there will be far less loading screens" at E3. Also on twitter, there was a tweet regarding the mission end screens but I forget exactly what was said. I believe the response was that they would be improved though.

I would also prefer to drop the "restart mission thing". I liked how, in ME1, on certain missions, you could just decide to go back to a hub area without resetting the mission's progress.

There is no way they are getting rid of "restart mission".  That option is necessary for when "I have totally screwed up this play through and the last save that is not part of this mission was 15 game hours ago."  Which happens more to RPG players than they want to admit.  There are some non-BioWare RPGs that I have quit for exactly this reason.

Immersion < Possibility of rage quits

Those Mission Complete screens need to go. They really, REALLY do. So do the giant pop-ups whenever you collect anything as well. What is this, an adults game for intelligent people or a child's pop-up book for idiots who have the memory of a goldfish with ADD?

It has been said by certain devs that Bioware is attempting to achieve "seamless loading," so hopefully the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED screens are gone along with those dumb loading screens that lasted forever. As for XP handling, I'd prefer it to be like in DA2 where the amount is given after a battle is concluded.

I don't mind the pop-ups in the corner. I took them as infoscreens from the omni-tool.

I really don't see what the big deal is.  They could have integrated the screen into the game better, sure.  But it really didn't "take you out of the game."  Everything listed on the screen, with the exception of XP gained (which is a gameplay construct) is in-universe.  The mission summary from the Illusive Man was interesting to read most of the time (small missions didn't really have much of a summary), and the screen reminds you of everything you gained from the mission.  Maybe you didn't know that doing a loyalty mission unlocked new outfits and powers, or completely forgot exactly what weapons and upgrades you got.  The mission complete screen has all of that information there for you.  On top of all that, you can skip it if you want, and quickly.

It won't bother me if they are there or not.  I really don't care.  But it isn't like the game splashed water in my face or anything.  The screen largely makes sense in context.  I would prefer if they just altered some of the cutscenes to fade to black, so it wouldn't be so sudden.  Or they add a small scene when Shepard is looking at the report after the mission, then it zooms in so you see it in detail.  That would be cool.
