hmm, I'd have to go with Liara. She's grown alot in two games and is the Shadow broker and is incredibly useful to Shepard. Tali is just a squadmate with some pull in the migrant fleet she refuses to use. That and she's still buried in denial about the Geth. If she gorws up more in Me3 I'll be happy.

How is this physcopathic. Its something anyone working in dangerous cut-throat business would do.
Every one in ME is a psycopath.
The squad has killed hundreds of people who may have just been under orders.
Tali is inexperiences, whiny and faceless. He prejuidced to the geth and Legion and questioning my order when I revealed the evidence of her father pissed me off.
Liara saved me from the Collectors, this one deed alone puts her above any LI or squad Loyalty-wise.
Fought her own mother, accepted her mother was a traitor. And came in terms with it and never questioned my orders.
Another major similarity/difference is both have trecherous parents.
Tali's father performed brutal experiments on the Geth, for what he believed was for a good cause, and endangered the whole fleet brought her daughter to or near exile.
And still Tali couldn't let go, believed he did the right thing and was going to take exile.
Where as same can be seen for Liara. Benezia joined Saren, helped him in his operation, believed that she was doing this for the greater good of the galaxy.
And got indoctrinated, gave Shalia as a sacrifice. Endangered Liara.
Even before knowing that Benezia was indoctrinated she came in term with who her mother had become and went with me personally to kill her.
See difference in maturity.

Comparing Liara and Tali is like comparing apples and pears. Impossible to say who is better.
They're different species, have different characters and appeal to people in different ways. Therefore no one wins, it a personal choice of who you personally like better.
That said I prefer Liara over Tali.

Personally i like both, but i see Tali more as a little sister than a partner, probably because i feel that if i dont do what she wants or what she says she's not really loyal to me, and come as a little spoiled in my eyes then.
On the other side i see Liara as a partner, she's more mature and always have been unconditional. And i just love the times her krogan side comes up
