 Hello everyone,

Long story short, I moved from France to Canada, and managed to misplace my CD manual with the serial on it in the process. However, my game and several DLC are registered on my Bioware Social Network account. The game has never been installed on this computer.

I've contacted EA support, as adviced, twice now, and eventhough they give me they impression they want to help at first, I inevitabily end up being treated like a fraud ("take a picture of yourself with your game box and your name on it" .. I mean, seriously ? I registered the game ! I even have characters and achievement on my profile !), and being requeued in "tier 2 help" where no one ever respond to my call.

The questions are : Is there someone I can contact at Bioware to get actual help ? Is there any way I can get the serial back from my bioware account ? Is there any risks if I use "someone else's" serial (I have DA:O, DA2 and ME2 registered on this account, plus countless DLCs... risking a ban is not an option).

Thanks.

Edit : I precised that I moved from France to Canada, because the second EA-person asked me to return to the store in which I bought the game ... which isn't an option.

EA actually runs this board, and thus they are the only ones who can get any kind of access to the info you need. The issue is they don't want to give out info to people in case you happen to have hacked someone's account who lives in France. Not your fault or really even theirs, but how would you feel if you had your game rights stolen and possibly lost the ability to play because someone hacked your bioware account and pulled a fast one on EA??

1) easiest fix is to find your key and go from there.
2) get someone who has the computer that used to have the game to retrieve the key for you and uninstall the game.
3) Buy a new DA:O game, and link it to your account, the dlc should transfer.
4) continue sweet talking the guys from EA and hope one takes pity.

from easiest to hardest in my book, but good luck.

Well, I'll admit I didn't thought about it that way, but you have to recon that would make me the dumbest pirate EVER. Why would I hack into someone's Bioware account, then have to send picture of myself to EA support while repeatedly begging for a CD key to gain access to one game, when I could download it overnight, in one click, off any torrent tracker?

I believe this, and the fact that I have the game boxes and the serials to every other game on this account in my possession (and can prove it) are sufficient proofs of my honesty.

As for the "EA runs this place" part, the first EA-person I talked to told me to bring my problem to Bioware, and I was hoping I could get the coordinates of some admin, or anyone here that could do something for me, or point me in the right direction...

Thanks for the advices anyway, I think I'll try the "beg more" one :P (and eventually give up, and play DA2 without save from the first :( )

If you still have access to the machine it was originally installed on you can find the key in your registry most times. I can't recall exactly where right now, but someone on the boards might know. If it helps, I'm in exactly your situation right now only I can't access my old machine because it's in pieces to help build this new rig. I lost my whole case, disk and all. I haven't tried calling EA yet since I'm betting that's going to go pretty well no where...

Problem solved !

After a few unsuccessfull conversations, I finally got to chat with someone that could help me on support.ea. He retrieved my serial number, and set it up on the new EA online store (Origin), even allowing me to download it (that goes for you taelus.calimshan). I'm able to play my game now, awesome !

Thank y'all for reading and/or helping.
