Yeah, he's a scumbag.

But since everyone wants every minor character from the game to be a squadmate or an LI, why not Harkin? He's cynical and realistic, and I like that very much about the man.

I wouldn't want to turn my back on him or have him watch my six in a battle. It would be Jacob and Miranda all over again. Never trusted them either.

I trusted Jacob, but I still don't trust Miranda

but on topic, if given the choice I'd shoot him, he's been more trouble than he's been worth and I'd never take him on as a squadmate

Err, after Garrus crippled him by shooting him in the knee, I don't think he's going to be able to *cough* keep up with femshep.  But, no bad feelings.

Comparing these two... doesn't work.  They're nothing similiar about them,  Zaeed's a hard ass without much of a concious but he always seemed relatively cordial to me.  Harkin on the other hand was a dirty drunk that had no manners and was sleazy to the core, and he happened to looked like Bruce Willis and Jason Statam had a baby and it was beaten constantly by the ugly stick.

To you maybe.  To me they are both crinimals.  Zaeed was willing to kill a bunch of cilvilans for his 20 year revenge.  Harkin is just as scumming to me.  Don't want either one on my ship.  Every playthrough I do now I won't even bother to recruit Zaeed and if I do, he will  not survive the SM.

Why would Harkin be attracted to someone who said it "It's okay Garrus, you can shoot him in the knee."

And then Harkin had the ballz to say: "what did I ever do to you?" As if sending Blue Suns and 2 heavy Ymir's to kill me wasn't enough.
