This final game will, imo, make or break Mass Effect's legacy. It's all been said on this forum and it's true, Bioware has some high expectations to meet.
That being said, I hope that Bioware does not forget what and WHO made Mass Effect so succesful. The fans that played ME1 (casual and hardcore) and made ME2 possible. I know that opinions are divided between ME1 and ME2 and we can all go back and forth as to what needs to be done for ME3.
I simply just want to say that ME3 needs to go back to it's roots and bring back ME1s RPG elements and refine them. I've been on these forums for a while and frankly, it's changed my tone and perspective. I came to these forums loving Mass Effect 2 and I have done multiple playthroughs. Not to say that these forums made me hate ME2, it simply made me wish it wasn't so linear and restricted. I hated that most hubs (Citadel, Illium, Omega, Tuchanka) felt dead once you've completed all the sidequests and conversations. I hated that all the combat was done in closed quarters (I remember doing missions in ME1 where I can hop out the Mako and actually use my sniper rifle to take down units that were either miles or kilometers away.)
TL;DR Bring back the open environs of ME1 but make terrains easier for travel. Bring back real time experience gain (ie prothean artifacts) but give bigger rewards. Allow more open combat.
ME3's potential

They are adding and refining rpg elements in Me3
As for the open combat i agree with you but i doubt there gonna do it and if they do they would probably be rare. Im just basing that on the levels we saw on the demos at E3 so im probably wrong

Most people miss it and post threads if it isn't living up to their unrealistic expectations. That thread needs to be bolded and in size 36 font.

It doesn't matter how this game goes anyway since it's the last in the series.

...and no matter how good it is, ME3 will be scrutinized to high hell and the people on these forums will be just as divided as they are now.
