build a working model of the M-3 Predator or M-4 Shuriken. I know eezo doesn't exist, so I'm thinking it would have to be air powered and most likely chambered in .177, so as to be a hobby project rather than be classified as an actual firearm. got to keep it legal.

Sounds cool, but is this really the appropriate forum?

I thought the only other place to post this would be to actually create a project, but I wanted to find out if any other ME fans would be interested in this at all. finding someone with engineering or machining experience would be good.

Sure, I'll help by testing it out on the feral cats in my neighbourhood. :bandit:

WHAT???? EEZO IS NOT REAL????
You can buy a planet scanner on e-bay and get some eezo form one of the outer planets in Solar System. You will have some problems with the thermal clips, though....

military and a few hobbyists seem ahead of you there. I've got a few videos in this blog: http://social.biowar...264/blog/13425/

and you can check out some stuff on youtube also.

while informative, that wasn't what I meant. I'm talking about building a pistol resembling an M-3 or M-4 that fires .177 caliber pellets at high velocity, can be repressurized by hand and is relatively inexpensive. Building a railgun that would be comparable would be cost prohibative and quite possibly illegal.

That shouldn't stop you! Railguns FTW!

not really a bb gun. I was thinking .177 hunting pellets would be more accurate and capable of greater range and velocity. if possible, being able to adjust the pressure released when the trigger is pulled you you could adjust the velocity of the projectile would be amazing.
