Was I the only one who actually trusted Morrigan about wanting to redeem the old god? She's not some amazingly evil ****, she's a pragmatist who has never had a friend in her life, and has only extremely limited contact with anyone other than her mother. She doesn't even really want you to kill Flemeth, she just wants the book and doesn't think Flemeth will just hand it over.

Honestly, maybe it's nothing, but as this is meant to be the first game in a new IP, I just get the feeling that the Old God child is very likely to be the player character in the sequel. Maybe it's just Baldur's Gate paranoia, but that's what it looks like to me.

I was going to just give her the grimoire and tell her Flemeth was dead but then I accidentally discovered there were negative consequences to that in her epilogue, so then I decided Flemeth had to go. Really enjoyed fighting the dragon, too. Cool!

No, you aren't the only one. Morrigan had nothing to lose by telling the truth - she just didn't tell the full story. Her truthfullness may not have extended to earlier conversations though. Morrigan wanting to preserve the essence (spirit?) of an Old God in its uncorrupted form is entirely in keeping with her contempt for the Chantry. Everything we know about the Old Gods comes from the Chantry and since my PC distrusts the Chantry's motives my PC was inclined to agree with letting the untainted Old God live. There is no evidence that an untainted Old God is evil.

In my first playthrough I killed Flemeth, but it didn't feel right. Flemeth didn't want to fight until it became a matter of survival. She made several references to Morrigan misleading people with her stories and since Morrigan is the only one in the party that has read the grimoire my PC is not convinced Morrigan is telling the truth about it. Clearly, Flemeth wanted the Blight ended but needed two naive, new Warden's alive to do it, so she saved their lives. Nobody in this game is as they seem and all the characters are shades of grey rather than being truly good or evil, so I give Flemeth the benefit of the doubt.

If she turns up later as a truly evil character I'll kill her then.

in my first playthrough, i killed flemeth. someone mentioned there are consequences if you don't? what are those by chance? someone also mentioned destroying the grimore. can this be done? i just don't remember that option in my first play through. if you do destroy it or not even complete the task of killing flemeth/bargaining with her to get the book, does the topic of the dark ritual even come up at end game? and one more thought, when morrigan asks you to kill flemeth, she says she doesn't want to be there. is there a particular reason other than she's afraid of being posessed as she mentions? can you not bring here there at all? i just haven't get got to that point in my new game to try. just curious. this whole flemeth/morrigan/old god/demon baby thing is quite curious.
