How does one account for the possibility of a variable number of companions for cutscenes. Player one has 2 companions with him when he hits the cutscene and player two has 3 companions. If I have three dummy henchman in the scene should the cutscene ignore any that are not used in game? I'm foggy as to how this works.

If you map Follower 1, Follower 2 and Follower 3, the game will only map those followers that are there - though if you're mapping through the conversation editor, make sure to put Required to No, since it will throw up an error otherwise.

So if there are only two of the followers in the part and I have put three dummy actors in the cutscene the extra dummy actor should not show up correct?
Correct. The third actor will just never get mapped, and thus you should only end up with the two followers you -do- have mapped in the scene.
