After ME2 was mostly fighting different merc groups in the plot misssions instead of Reaper related enemies I´d say we have some reason to worry.

You never know, maybe there's a mission where you rescue Cerberus and get them to fight on your side for the final battle. Too optimistic?

It kind of sucks that Cerberus are indoctrinated, pretty unoriginal plot device tbh.

"Hey we need to add more interesting enemies to ME3 other than just husks. Hmm... how about Collectors? Nah scratch that already done. Mercs? Already done to death. Hey how about that pro-human group from Mass Effect 2... what where they called again? Was it Cerberbus or something? But how can we explain the fact that they are now enemies? Aha! How about we have the reapers indoctrinate them? Perfect!"

:wizard:

Pretty much THIS.

I wasn't worried about whether we were going to do nothing but fight Cerberus in ME 3. I understood that so far they are only showing off a few smallish levels where Cerberus obviously features heavily.

My main problem has been the Cerberus heavy screen shots. I was starting to get a bit sick of yet another screen shot of some faceless Cerberus goon. Thankfully the last two screen shots showing Garrus and the Geth are moving away from that.

Phaedon, there's almost 150 dead Cerberus employees in Derelict Reaper Mission and Overlord.

Cerberus operatives are like toilet paper.

They are sh*tty and useless after their first use.

I kid, I kid, but yeah, spot on. Cerberus hire people all the time.

Is there like a Cerberus Operative waiting list or something? ;)

"Sorry folks at this time Cerberus is FULL up. Please take a number and wait until we call it."

"Okay folks, a sentient AI just went crazy at one of our secret research facilities. A couple of spots have since opened up. Could numbers 60 through 210 please raise your hands..."

Will we still encounter the same mercenaries from ME2?

I really really hope that we will fight the Reapers in person and not just their mindless husks and cerberus agents...

Really fight Harbinger face to face!

Or i will be forever haunting you, Bioware.

Well if you look at the updated list of info at the top the forums you will find that cerberus agents account for 40% of the enemies we face. Personally I find that 40% is to high I would like it more at 20% cause than that would give a wider range of enemies to fight.

So Cerberus are the new Geth?

Weird. There must be some explanation for how they seemingly built an army overnight. Edit: the Reapers sending indoctrinated servants their way?

They always had an small army.

What kind of terrorist organization that has 7 million credits income per year would not have it?

7 million credits?

I guess you're right, though. TIM is probably dumping every resource he has into building his forces now, for the sole purpose of hunting down Shepard (whatever the reason). I doubt those troops of his are long-time Cerberus guys, though. Probably just cloned or recruited them.
Too bad he got away in Retribution.

At some point in Mass Effect 3, a NPC must yell "flee! the Bannana Geth are coming!"

And here I thought people would be excited about enemy composition...

I suspect that most "discontent" stems from incorrect assumptions about game enemy composition.

I think a lot of people are assuming that Reaper soldiers will all have Husk-level tactics (as in no tactics whatsoever).

That said, I still think 40% is a lot. I trust you guys will have a valid explanation for the abundance of Cerberus goons (not to mention why they're after Shepard in the first place).

As long as it makes sense (storywise), the enemy tactics are varied and the look different enough ... seeing some "old time favourites" and some new enemies ... fight Cerberus mercs is not that bad. That potentially makes it hit home harder (you basically killing your own) then fighting some "faceless, heavily mutated bunch of weird entities".

Also Cerebrus got plenty of resources (after all they could fund the lazarus project and SR2, etc. at the same time) so it wouldn't be that diffiocult to assume that they could deploy a sizeable number of "specialists", etc.

40ish % is a lot depending on what you think the remaining 60ish % is.

My discontent stems from having to fight my only ally and from being forced to kill humans. 40% is a depressingly big number. Theoretically, with such a number, it is entirely possible to face Cerberus in every single mission throughout the entire game until the very end.

These are assumptions, of course. But with this number, the only way to turn Cerberus to our side before the story hits the apex would be to fight no one but Cerberus for almost half of the game. Which isn't going to happen, since we need variety.

Oh, I definitely want to see how it's been explained why Cerberus has turned against Shepard. I want to see how it's been pulled off. It's going to be my prime reason for playing the game. Story first!

You mean a self-centered ego maniac like TIM wasn't trustworthy?

Color me shocked!

He would probably turn on his mother if it served his own interests.

No, that is incorrect.

I agree with the Story First sentiment. In fact, that's the only reason I bother with BioWare games. I don't play them to play them; I play them to experience them. Mass Effect is no exception.

As somebody who liked Cerberus, does this mean I'll be frowning for 40% of the enemies? :P
