I agree with you the relationship is unlikely to work long term... but you are exaggerating the problems a bit. Tali and Shepard slept together and all she got was a stuffy nose. I think she'll be fine.
As time goes on she should react less to it too.
the humans mouth is filthy, filled with tons of bacteria. shepard eats the wrong thing, gets a piece of food stuck between his teeth that he doesnt notice, thats a nice little colony of potientially deadly bacteria for her.
Nope, she can't get an infection from Shepard because thei're not biochemically compatible, and Tali herselfs says that quarians who link their suits (so the standard quarian mating beginning) intially get sick to eachother, but then they start to adapt to eachother. So it's quite unlikely that she'll get more sick that it happened the first time.
For you other objections... the "preparation" they need to do it's just doing an accurate shower and take some medicines and find a clean and closed place where have sex. Is that so much different from what would do a normal couple? Also, frustrations because of the suit... I can dig that a little bit, but it's not dramatic as you picture. They can stay hand-to-hand, hug and all those things. Tali deals with the lack of direct contact with other people from all her life, and if Shepard can fall in love of her without seeying her face I guess he can "tolerate" to touch her with suit on.
For the long-time relations, we'll see what ME3 will bring to them. Considered everything both Tali and Shep seems to be deeply involved, but there are various obstacles, even if not so dramatic to be impossible to be overcomed, if they really want it.
Also, in the very end, we're talking of a sci-fi videogame. Don't pretend that everything is absolutely realistic and plausible. You can also date an alien woman with an USB sexuality, or a telekinetic woman birth in vitro, and not a girl with an immodeficency problem? Use some disbelief suspection, or you'll have to nitpick almost everything of every romance, except maybe Ash's and Kelly's.

Exactly, but I guess ClonedZero is just having fun at saying "It doesn't makes sense! LoL She should be dead!".

Still seems like a stupid risk to me, if you love someone enough you should be willing to not copulate because of the danger to them. It's just one of these little things that blows my mind... it's not the relationship that gets me. I can understand the basis for said relationship... but it being physical I can't imagine how a girl no matter how enarmored they are by someone would take that risk.

So I was happy enough just rescuing her from death and danger, exited when she decide to drop everything and join up again, and exhilarated when Kelly gave me the rumor of her interest. I actually thought it wouldn’t go any further and Kelly was just trying to get us together which seemed so much like her to do, perhapse even doing it as a cruel joke to see if shep would try and get shot down and be humiliated. Then Tali said it was true and like Garrus I had to do a double take and go really? Wow! And of course Mshep told her he felt the same it was a very pleasant surprise and their relationship is very cute.
I know long term it may turn into an Alistair moment where Tali might just have to say to shep, “I can’t be with you anymore because of my people’s expectations and being with a human doesn’t fit that mold no matter how much I wish it to.” That would be sad and devastating but given how the Quarians seem to view relationships they prefer only a Quarian be with a Quarian or a Turian. It makes sense dextro x dextro a lot saver then dextro x amino given the air alone will get them sick. It seems like a cultural bias is just under the surface when I visit the flotilla so I wouldn’t be shocked if say Shep and Tail’s relationship got out and most the flotilla wanted to riot against shep because of it.
I love how BW has made Tali progress in such a subtitle way (unlike Liara ME – ME2) and I hope their love will do the same.

Believable, meeting her in ME she was cute personality wise and very interesting I was dazzled by her tales of the flotilla. In 2 it was obvious she’d grown up sense then. I was worried she wouldn’t even be on the team I mean after 2 years did I have the right to ask her to risk her new found life again? I kept thinking it’s been 2 years it’s not your place to ask her.

She took all the precautions she could, and I'm sure she wouldn't have even suggested to have sex if she wasn't sure to have a concrete chance of survival. She's in love, not in search of a kamikaze-copulation. Plus, she decide to go to Shep right before the SM, where both her and Shep already had concrete chances to die, and also she already saw Shep die once (she was aboard the Normandy during the Collector's attack) so she was even more incentivated than the other female LIs to go to spend some valuable time with him before the final battle.

I agree with you, but people do stupid things sometimes. They're about to fly off to go die on the far side of the Omega-4 Relay anyway. Even if they survive that they're going to be killed by the Reapers.

Well, if I knew if I was going to be spending the next few weeks coughing phlegm (if I was lucky) everytime I had sex with someone, I would find someone else to have sex with. More to the point though, Tali herself said that every time she takes a suit breach she's basically rolling the dice. I can't imagine a situation in which a commander would expose a subordinate to that kind of risk just to get his/her rocks off. And that's not even getting into the fraternization issue...

Tali's stuff could do the samething to Mshep. She's dextro like Garrus and he doesn't have to injest it to die he just has to start doing it.
@ Cam-Tal I would be so sad and devistated if that happened I still can't quite get over Alistair breaking it off with my nonhuman character but it's duty and I understood his reasons even if I didn't like it. I still play DA and when I get that scene I'm usually like, " No don't do this to me!". If Tali gives a plauisable reason or a culteral one that is beliveable I could be made to understand it but I won't like it, but I also won't go sending BW hate mail for it either if it's well done because it would be one of those life can suck situations.

Yup, and as I've said, Tali also already saw Shepard dying without having a chance of being with him. Can you blame her for wanting be sure to don't wast the practically miracolous second chance she gained with Shepard?

Sure, it's much better than doing that dumb character bashing so sadly common in this SN. The fact I'm/we're not of your same opinion don't mean I/we can't dig your PoV. There are plenty of reasons that supports both our
ways to think about that situation.
MassEffect762 wrote...

Exactly.
The romance feature is a perfect example of fanservice, no matter of what game or character we're talking about. The only thing we can discuss is if it was well made or lame fanservice. I think that romances
in BW games are always at least at a more-than-decent level, that doesn't mean that they couldn't have been
improved, but surely thei're absolutely enjoable and interesting.

You have two options:
1 - date an human LI
2 - don't play/watch Sci-fi stuffs, because plausiblity can't be applied to everything about it
Both easy, aren't they?

Then you shouldn't play a sci-fi game where half of those 'people' are aliens, should you?

Is it too much to ask for Mass Effect 3 to, you know, tell a good story? Because there's plenty of sci-fi in other media (literature, movies, tv shows, etc) that do just fine without having characters act OOC in the name of fanservice.
But it would honestly be a side issue for me if the sexual relationships in ME2 didn't seem to be included at the expense of non-sexual relationships.

IIRC, it was considered early on, but they (erroneously in retrospect) believed she would not be popular enough to warrant it. So it never was implemented when development proper began.
