Does anyone know how I can possibly get + spirit damage on my warrior in Awakening. Want to boost my Spirit Warrior. The only way I can think of is by putting Amplification Runes into my armor, but thats only 15% and I would lose nearly 200 hp's so I don't think its a good enough trade-off. Was going to use Soulbound ring but its mage only which is really crap. Any input would be fantastic.

Cheers

I think each point into the spirit warrior tree after beyond the fade gives a hidden 5% bonus (total of +15%) and you can get two dreamsever rings (total of 20%). If you also get three amplification runes that's a total of +50% spirit damage which is considerable.

Ah thanks, will see if I can find a Dreamsever, not sure where to get the second one?
well 40 Con vs 15% spirit damage, thoughts anyone? I'm a DW dex tank, have 720 hps(ish) with the con runes in my chestpiece. Would lose 200 health but gain 15% more damage, not sure if it is a worthy tradeoff.

A high dex tank doesn't need a lot of health, as enemies have trouble hitting you with the high defense.

There's a pair of fights during Golems of Amgarrak where plentiful health would come in handy, but other than that, base constitution is plenty. High armor+high defense provide a bigger benefit over max health.

190 def unbuffed. But I know for a fact that without that extra health I woulda been a smear on the floor during the fight with the Queen of the Blackmarsh, any fights harder than that? First play through Awakening you see, have done GoA and think i'll be alright. Guess I'll get me some Amp runes then lol

Without giving anything away, the final battle in GoA is heaps harder than anything in Origins or Awakening.

As I said, I have done GoA but not with this toon. Is anything harder than Queen of the Blackmarsh in Awakening?

Yes, against the harvester, a tank with high armor/defense/health can still die in a blink.

The queen of the blackmarsh fight can be made much easier with having good lightning or magic resistance, and a good set of armor can help with the grab attacks, as well as a mage with access to force field for emergencies.

My tanks generally have put some points into constutution by the second half of Awakening, because strength/dexterity are usually high enough at that point, but I wouldn't feel forced to hold on to a piece of equipment that happens to have a constitution boost.

If you plan on importing to Golems of Amgarrak, you may want to at least hold onto any health boosting items though. It's there when it seems that you can never have enough health, and being stuck with the runic golem as a healer doesn't help.

If you're unsure about whether to use a dreamsever ring or the con boosting items, just hold on to all of them and see what works best for you. Experiment while out adventuring/decapitating darkspawn.

That's... only because the queen of the blackmarsh  shoots electricity.  10,000  defense points won't help you against  an elemental attack.  You need resistances for that.    But 190 defense is more than enough  to be unhittable in combat, save for rare special attacks that never miss, and those are very few and far between.    You really don't need to waste points on constitution just for them.

I will say though, that there's quite a bit of good  +con gear in this game.  Life giver ring,  The Blood gorge Amulet,  The black armor you find in Blackmarsh....  Clamshell armor,  Golem shell armor.....  You could literally find yourself with  40+ con without ever putting a single point into it.

^yes, I had a rogue with +40 constitution. With his already high dexterity, he was quite the tank.

With +con armor, don't forget about Venture. My arcane warrior looks sexy in that.   http://dragonage.wik...om/wiki/Venture

The stormchaser set of armor has a nice boost to electricity resistance, and is quite handy against the Queen.

If I recall correctly I had 3 rogues and 1 healer mage (wearing Leliana's battledress) and all the Armor's had:
- Diligence Rune.
- Paragon Stout Rune.
- Paragon Immunity Runet.
My health never got below 80%, but then again Blackmarsh is always the last place I visit so that makes me level 33-35.

Hitting those energy balls so hard that none of them reached her during the whole healing proces also worked quite well to make sure it was over very... very fast.

follow my advice and you should be killing things faster then they can kill you :)

Remeber that +15% is multiplicative with the resistance debuffs and adding to other elemental damage sources. Your bonus spirit damage alone is +50% x 2.0 with debuffs if your capped, not counting crits of course.
