your saying there is no realationship on this planet that can not NO MATTER WHAT succed without physical attraction? there is no logic behind that statement, how can you say that there isnt one realationship ever that has exsisted without physical attraction?

Well, it's true.  But that doesn't mean our Shepard can't be sexually attracted to that Vorcha stripper we ran into on Omega when we were completely trashed on that Batarian Bartender's poison drink (why do you think we woke up in a gutter with our squadmates and that random human there watching?).

no it was a batarian wacthing me no human oh but thane was screaming ANARCHY! that confused me

The last time I checked humans can engage on sexual acts with the aliens in the Mass Effect universe.

"Can" and "it's also not freaking disturbing" are two very different things.

Sorry, english it's not my native language, so I missed your point xD

Just because they can, doesn't mean they should.

So, it's unethical?

It's disturbing. Garus is  a androgenous BUG MAN.  Thane is a lizard man. Tali lives in a space suit her whole life and has reverse jointed legs.

They aren't human. Anyone remember the reference to interspecies prostitution in District 9? That is interspecies sex.

You do know it's only because his Shep can't knock them up...that's what the whole issue is about.

Seems that way. I mean, the only reason anyone gets together is to make babies. All those people not interested in having babies are lying. All barren women are automatically filtered out of the dating pool and shunned as pariahs. And of course the fuller, heavier-set women best suited for birthing are prized in our society instead of waifish, willowy types like actresses and models.

LOL...:D...nail square on the head Aris...^_^

Did I tell anyone that what they think isn't valid?

Everyone is 100% entitled to do or enjoy things that I find disgusting.

If anything, Garrus would actually be a bird man. But in reality, he's an alien, so... Not related to any Earth animals.

I'm just going to post this again since the op didn't respond, it made me a sad panda. :(

I'm sorry if you don't like alien relationships, but that is how it is in the ME and indeed many sci-fi universes. If you would like to see a universe with what you deem more realistic alien relationships, I reccomend you read Sassinak by Anne McCaffrey. Unlike her freedom's landing books, the generation warriors series actually touches upon alien and human relationships, mainly how it doesn't work out for the protagonist.

If in that relationship you find comfort, pleasure, and the other has esteem for you why not? In definition it is an actual relation.=]

This is all Captain Kirk's fault. He screwed up the whole genre from the very beginning with his indomitable sexiness.

Now, if Mass Effect followed through on this and owned it (like Perdido Street Station did), I would be more inclined to forgive them for the whole fraternization thing.

What do humans look like to Turians? Does FemShep even read as female to Garrus? Do Asari? How does sex being a high-risk endeavor influence how you approach the topic? What sort of person would pursue a relationship with something outside their species?

Of course, if Mass Effect was operating on a level that complex, they would have included stuff like female Turians.

At least one of the novels manages it fairly well. Well, in one example anyway. A Batarian thug goes to a  "high class" brothel to buy a human female just so he can sexually abuse her. Naturally his intentions are understood before he even has the chance to get started and the ending isn't pretty for him.

*sigh* I've done an awful job explaining myself if I'm getting the same response.
Many things will offend us, many things. But so long as no one is getting hurt I see no point stopping them from doing what makes them happy. So an alien hits on you, just politely decline and move on. When it turns into an unavoidable encounter, get rid of them.
Or drive them nuts in Liara's case

I understand what your saying and i completly agree, if you do not like something there is no need to shout and holler and try to shame it him her or whatever it is, just say that you are not into that kind of thing and pass on by, there is no need to live and hurt other people, if they are happy with what they are doing and it is not effecting you than leave it that way, just go on with your own life

Thank you titaniumHOG. Personally, I'm getting a bit worried about female Shepard being hit on more often by Asari than male aliens (most times she has to hit on the guys to get a relationship).
But it doesn't mean I'm offended enough to ask that Bioware change it.
