*snip*  I mean, the only reason anyone gets together is to make babies. All those people not interested in having babies are lying. All barren women are automatically filtered out of the dating pool and shunned as pariahs. And of course the fuller, heavier-set women best suited for birthing are prized in our society instead of waifish, willowy types like actresses and models.

Oh, "sarcasm," we have dismissed this claim.

King Zeel has posted that anyone who is attracted to someone who isn't: 1) human female; and 2) capable of bearing children is a pervert or delusional.  By this logic, the only purpose of sex is to generate offspring.

Gentlemen and Gentleladies, I submit to you that I have discovered King Zeel's secret!

You know you don't have to pursue those romances if they disturb you? I admit I think the whole alien romance thing is odd, that's why I don't go there...

I'm so tired of seeing this response on the board. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this... but the whole alien cross species thing can't be ignored.. It's balantly there, they hit on you, they jump through hoops to suck your face, I mean it's not something my shepard could avoid.  Honestly, I didn't even speak to Tali in me1 or me2 and guess what? She still wanted to "link our body suits".

Well maybe if I close my eyes, plug my ears and yell really loudly I might be able to ignore alien romance. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop Bioware from wasting a large portion of development time and money on fufilling these sci-fi's ridiculous fetish-y quirks.

Actually, you can ignore it.  It's called using the middle repsonse instead of the top right one.  If you always pick that one, you won't be in a romance with anyone.

You are all over the place.  Your complaining on this thread, but cool with human only relations in another.  And I like how you ignored my question.  So, I'm going to think you have a problem with human/elf/dwarf relations in DA:O as well.

This. God forbid you actually have to say "not interested" to someone to avoid their HORRIBLE SPACE COOTIES!!!!!!  I'm not into the alien romances either really but my God, dude....

I found this video. Someone imported tali's model from ME2 to 3Dmax and she look very human
Anyway if she is a monster like some people think shepard would have done this! Well he didn't.

Yeah her face does look human for the most part, though I think it does look a bit birdlike in the way it is shaped.

That doesn't mean anything about what her face will canonically look like, though. It's just something the model has, for now, because models need heads.

To be fair, this is a true statement.  The cultural differences often make these relationships more difficult.  We can decry that if we wish, but it is true.

Minor differences in body type are largely ignorable, as the mental model we have of "humans" is extremely vague. Digitigrade legs are arguably more attractive than normal, as that's exactly the gait and pose high-heeled shoes are designed to evoke in women.

Also, we have to consider the other side. Is a relationship with a human who's lost some fingers ok? How about if they're sterile? If they has extensive body piercing or tatoos?
Is it okay to be in a relationship with someone who's uploaded thier mind into a robot body if it looks like a normal human? What about a cloned human with an alien mind?

I honestly don't see any difference between a relationship with and alien and one with an elf. Non-human is non-human, and the only people who are allowed to decide if the relationship is acceptable are those in it.

And yes, it's definately worth the work. For exactly this reason. Imo the whole point is to make people think about sexuality, thier preferences and why they have said preferences.

As an aside, Sexual attraction to other species is a very useful evolutionary trait, as it prevents benefitial mutations from exclusion from the gene pool should the mutation alter the appearance of the subject beyond species-specific standards, and may allow access to new sources of genetic information, such as how humans bred neanderthals out of extinction.

FYI, I too met my current girlfriend via the internet. We've been together for 10 years, and are still going strong.

Thats not the point. I know its a place holder, but the developers can't change it too much now because they gave players some idea what she look like and she won't look like predator or something ;)

What, is the real issue here the inability to reproduce?

No it's obviously that "bioware is RUINED FOREVER  by having alien romances and not focusing entirely on humanity, HURR DURR THEY'Z DA SUXOR"

That's a rough aproximation at least.

Ah...but Liara is an alien and apparently she is acceptable.

Shhh this is the last font of amusing bullsh*t here since Elite Midget left.

Your forgetting Extreme One...=]

Actually, I'm kind of surprised I didn't make this list myself

Yes, lesser of a woman. Not that I would treat her as such. If human's purpose is to reproduce than how can she be equal to someone who can?

This could only be true if humanity's only reason for existence is to reproduce.  Reproducing is not humanity's purpose, and inability to do so doesn't say anything about someone's worth.

Well humanity's purpose for existence is more of a metaphysical debate isn't it?

As long as we can die I'd say that survival including ability to carry the species on is pretty much on top of the list. However since we ain't about to die out... Quality of life takes a somewhat bigger role :)

I am all into the human space females and as people here have said, you can say not interested. Just because the op isn't interested in space females doesn't mean those that like space females or even space males as romance options should suffer.

There is more to love than just reproducing, you can have a girlfriend or a boyfriend that you are in love with but do nothing of the reproducting at all. As in a matter of fact I know a few people who are in love with their partner for a few years but they have never had sex.

If you arn't interested then don't say anything about being interested.

The OP kind of has a point in a way...I liked the way KOTOR and BG 2 and the NWN games did romances a little more than the ME approach to it and its annoying to see people kind of disregard the OP's point and just say he's wrong without actually making a paragraph of explanation :P
