Maybe, Bioware, next time spend less time on designing the character after a model and more time on finding a competent voice actor.

God, how is Mark Meer still employed? Even with a video full of lines, not one sounded like anything more than the monotone-i'm being-paid-to-read-this-crappy-voice-acting he usually does. I'm so disappointed, why do the female Shepard get a better voice actor than us?

In all fairness, the way male Shepard delivers the lines has quite a bit to do with the directing. Mark Meer is a very capable and talanted actor, I really don't think he deserves all the negative comments.
Compare, he voiced Jethann (minor npc in DA2)
That original vid, though... kind of hillarious

What? Are you complaining that MM didn't put enough emotional weight into the sentence "I should go"?
Seriously?
What was he supposed to do, cry?
To elaborate, the lines have to be a bit bland because the devs don't know when exactly the player will choose to end the dialogue in most cases and they always have to fit in. IMO Meer does a very decent job as Shepard when he reads lines the warrant emotion (e.g. the speeches towards the end of the games).
That he has to say "I should go" 500 times is not his fault, IMO it is not even the fault of the writing team that is responsible for the dialogues but it is simply due to the fact that the player has the choice to end dialogue quickly and under different circumstances and you need a line that basically always works no mater the context.

There are also those who think Hale is trying too hard to be tough, whereas Meer's lack of inflection is good because it allows players to project whatever emotion they want to into the dialogue. So part of this is really just preference. Personally, I think Meer has a very wide range, but in ME he is a little... too subtle, at times.

This has very little to do with this line. The entire male shepard is a disastor, this video just does a good job of showing off how awful his acting gets.

I don't care. Less attention to how a customizable character looks and more to how he SOUNDS.
DO you kow how many lines there are ni ME/ME2/ME3? Do you honestly expect them to get 5 or 6 different VA's to record every single line, and still keep the game at a reasonable price?

No, my expectation is a quality voice actor like the female shepards have.

Yeah, to me the somewhat monotone voice acting prevents the voice from overpowering the rest of the character, if that makes any sense. Probably not lol......I should go.

"I should stay" would be a nice change.
Never! That would be like Shepard not saying "Wrex."
