My Shep quit the specters, never willingly worked with cerberus, and isn't super cool with the alliance anymore. I don't even know what option I'll have to take to reflect that. Middle option all the way down.

I'm willing to give the Alliance another chance, however I will no longer be taking any orders. It's painfully obvious no one in the galaxy was competent enough to stop Saren or the Collectors, never mind them being able to stop the reapers. The strongest, most competent one is the one who should do the job. This person is Shepard so he better not have anyone telling him what to do.

Effectively I'm willing to help the alliance yet my Shepard will basically go rogue in ME3 (just not in Saren's way).

Not to mention that they took my ship, painted it Alliance blue, and then gave it to the VS...  You'd better believe Ash is getting a lesson on "Who's in charge 'cause she totally called it on the Reaper threat" when I get back on board.

I don't see Ash/Kaidan being on board the SR-2 as a sign that it had been handed over to them. Even though I don't really dislike the VS (yet) I feel the same way as you do. The alliance is certainly NOT taking MY ship and giving it to someone who has no chance of stopping the reaper threat by themselves. When Shepard comes aboard he is the one to kindly tell Joker (he's earned that much) where to go. If the VS tries to talk back at Shepard or pretend they're in command, they will be told to remember who's in charge and if they don't like it, they can get off the ship at the nearest stop.

nope i am here to see who will give me the highest pacy check to kill the reapers...

crowd:but shepard you need to save us ...

right just like you allowed the alliance to put me on trial for trying to save you because, i tried to save one damn doctor that turned out to be a reaper spy and caused me to blow up a system and now you want me to die .... yeah... not going to happen i am going to go somewhere and wait for you guys to die that would be my shepard saying to them as the earthw as getting attacked

I have a sneaking suspicion that everyone's Shepard still considers them Alliance... even if the player doesn't want them to.

Just one of those rare 'Shepard is X' sort of things.

Mr. Hudson (I believe) confirmed that it was possible to RP your Shepard to be anti-Alliance.

my paragon shepard will stick by alliance.

But my Renegade Shepard will go Rogue since she was abandoned by everyone she cared about except Garrus and Tali

Maybe. It really depends on whether or not the Alliance will treat him right after the invasion. But from where I stand now, he'll be flying solo.

My Shepard(s) definitely won't ally with Cerberus, period. Whether they go rogue or stick with the Alliance is another matter. Though if Shepard can go rogue and still be a Spectre that would be cool.

HELL, YES, she's still Alliance! Dang bastards owe her two years of back pay (hazardous duty) and at least two promotions in rank.

They didn't bother to recover the body, so she was technically "missing in action." She was captured subsequent to a firefight with unknown hostiles. Some space lawyer could argue that she was a prisoner of war. (or lawful salvage)

In any case, at the very least, she should get some sort of discharge.

Uh, they didn't give the Normandy to Ash or Kaidan as far as I'm aware of....

Anyways, yeah, my Shepard is an Alliance soldier through and through.

You think they're really gonna give it back to a fallen Spectre?  Who (as far as they know) is probably going to get executed so they can stave off war with the batarians?

No way.  They'll drape their arm around the VS, the new "humanity's greatest hero," and hand over the keys.

You got a point there. From a gameplay and story point of wiev it seems practical to have one (or three as the case may be) important looking person providing Shepard with missions. After the Council and TIMmy it seem that role is filled by the Alliance. Maybe.

But the illusion of a Shepard running a independent operation was rather strained in the first two games, hopefully that can be written better in ME3.

I think someone said we can RP as being anti-Alliance, so I think we have that option.

To add to my original post, another reason why I've sort of given the Alliance the finger was Joker's remark about how they didn't like all the non-human crew that I had. Dammit, my gunnery officer is a turian and my best engineer is a quarian, and half of my upgrades to the Normandy were of alien origin. If they're going to give me heat over having the best of the best on board when I fly off to save them again, they can kiss my drell-loving ass as I run off to punch the Reapers in the face.

Hell, even Jacob and Miranda didn't pitch a fit, and they're goddamn Cerberus.

Assh---s, the lot of them.

hell to the no. If I can figure out what's up with Cerberus and join them, I will. I'll only support the alliance in so far as it supports the best interests of humanity. and no, that does not include destroying the other races. More races= more people contributing to the technological and economic development of the galaxy.

im still a spectre, and although my relationship with the council and alliance isnt always sunshine and rainbows i belive that they are the best thing for the galaxy over TIM and cerberus any day.

the paragon ending of mass effect 1 shows me that even though we may all be diffrent and sometimes we may not always agree we are truly unbeatable when united.

cerberus will never be able to unite the galaxy.

I gotta imagine having the Shadow Broker helping you out means that you wouldn't have to rely on Cerberus, Alliance, or Council intel/resources.  My hope is that we have a choice in the matter, but something tells me we're gonna get railroaded into playing nicey-nice with the Alliance.

If I have the option, I'll definitely be telling the Alliance where they can stuff it, take my ship back, and hook up with Liara and fight the Reapers in my own way.

Would the giant Alliance paintjob the Normandy got be a sign that she's been claimed by the Alliance?

The Alliance can go to hell. My Shepard is still with Cerberus as long as they'll take him back after blowing up the Collector baseship.

I agree with that.  The armor upgrade from Jacob was from the asari.  That armor helped the Normandy through the Omega-4 relay and back.   Jacob also mentioned that he was getting it from secert devs by the Alliance.  WTF?  Right.

Some people in this thread think Being a Spectre = Loyal to Alliance. This isnt the case. My Shep is still a Spectre but has given up on the Alliance.
