kolyat may have made a brief appearance, but during that time, he demonstrated the potential to be an excellent fighter, hints at a complex personality and, depending on your paragon/renegade score, received a job dealing with criminals for either  C-sec or Bailey, or goes to jail where he would associate with the scum of the galaxy.

All of these things add up to the possiblity of an excellent squadmate or important NPC in either Mass Effect 3, or later games staged in the ME universe.

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'd like to see what happens with him.

Poor Lolcat. He should listen to his daddy, settle down and live happy, that kind of rubbish.

nah, I was thinking more following in his dad's footsteps, even if his dad doesn't want him to.

But,  he's a terrible assassin.  Thane was trained to kill from childhood Kolyat just decided to pick up a gun to spite daddy and failed miserably.

I still have absolutely no idea why people are so convinced that Kolyat might make a good fighter when he's gone to ridiculous lenghts to show us just how utterly incompetent he is, both physically and psychologically.

Assuming, of course, that the OP is serious.

He is.

I like Kolyat, and I've expressed my thoughts on how I think it would be awesome if he were a squaddie in the next ME gameverse, assuming it's no more than a decade or two after the end of ME3. Still don't think he'll ever be a viable assassin, but I've said my piece on that.

Admitedly, it's less than it used to be.

I'm sure Kolyat's good at what he does in his own right.  Thing is, we've been shown he's a terrible assassin.

- He drops Thane's name to get the job.

- He 'plans' (and I use that term loosely) the hit in the middle of a residential district in the middle of the day.

- He's known.  Should anyone witness the hit and say it was a drell, Bailey knows Kolyat's on the Citadel because drell aren't usually found there, and, Kolyat used one of his dad's old contacts, Mouse, who is known to Bailey.

Leaving out that Thane doesn't want the life he had for his son, you don't just become an assassin / soldier / combat ready over night.  It takes years of training, hard work and dedication. Which Kolyat could persue and even excel at.  But we're on a tight schedule at the moment.

So, personally, I'll just keep his dad around.

his dad has an expiration date. I still think his plan was decent enough for a first timer on a budget. We don't really know what his exit strategy was after getting in the speeder and flying off, so there's not much to say on that. he could either have had a contact to smuggle himself offworld or he could truly be an idiot and hope to make a shuttle before the call goes out to stop any drell going through customs. and he seemed mentally capable enough. Just showing disbelief and anger at his dad showing up and then crying when he hears the explanation.

Actually I don't want to see any more of him in ME3. He's one of ME2's "father issues" plot devices to make me care more about my squad mates, Thane in this instance - and for me it doesn't work. His father might have an expiry date but Kolyat would never be able to reach Thane's level of expertise as an assassin within a few months. None of my Shepards are babysitters when 'the end of the world as we know it' is at hand!

I personally would like to see more of him. Maybe working at CSEC. I think he has a complex personality that would be interesting to explore.

Errr.... what?

By shooting a krogan in panic and desperately taking Joram hostage? "Herp derp, I'm gonna take him with me and get sniped outside."

Kolyat is closer to Conrad Verner than his father.

Also, Kolyat hasn't got his fathers voice.
For me it's like supportin any other character that appeared on screen and spoke 2 lines.

Wouldn't mind to see him having become somewhat more competent, as long as he appears as Bailey's sidekick or something like that.

... same thing only he shoots Talid, who's sitting on his butt.

Let's go recruit Jared Loughner while we're at it.

I like Kolyat, thought he was a great character and a very tragic figure, would live to see both him and Thane in Mass Effect 3.

I'd rather see Feron as a squadmate.
