at the beginning of act three bodahn says that sandle was offered a position in orlais. Since sandal will *most likely* be in the next game, orlaise would be the place to see him, thus it will take place in orlais or at least it will be visied.

maybe....?

Probably. And the upcoming novel from Gaider is in Orlais as well. Makes sense that he'd write a novel that would serve to inform DA3 as The Calling and The Stolen Throne provided background info intended to enrich Origins.

Interesting notion. If it deals with the, er, post-Act 3 war-like events, would be cool to see Orlais, the Divine, more Seekers, etc. Hard to imagine a DA game without Bodahn and Sandal!

you're not the first to come to this conclusion. I, like many others, all see Bodahn and Sandal as the C3PO and R2-D2 of the Dragon Age series. We believe Orlais is next, or somewhere close to Orlais at least.

Plus there are other hints that Orlais seems to be the next setting, like the Nexus Golem.

I only ask that Bioware make a city feel truly big and alive. If we're going to go to Val Royeaux, I want it to feel as alive as the various characters describe it as, Leliana being the one that first comes to mind.

I'd say "probably", but I said that about DA2 taking place in Orlais too. We'll see.

i agree with this. Kirkwall seemed too...still. No changes over the years with the same crowds of people always hanging around. When i get bored of doing quests, i like to walk around the cities in games like this and just see what i can find. Here, there wasent much to find other than the ocasional "moth eaten scarf" in a random crate. it would be good to have a place with more interactions between people and more areas to explore aswell.

Why are people so keen to go to France? I mean, the food is nice, but you can't understand what anyone is saying. They don't speak English like we do.

You mean everyone's going to be speaking in that accent? Please no! I want to see Antiva but that's probably not likely.

If they keep the current orlaisian accents I'm not touching any DA games set in Orlais.

Woo es thiss man Teagan?!

On the one hand, I want to see a game set in Orlais. But I also want to see them calm down the accents.

In DAO and DA2 Orlesians had accents because they weren't speaking their native tongue.

In Orlais they would, so no accents.

Makes sense?

Calm down the accents how? To sound like yours?

.... I think that may be too high a dose of consistency for BioWare to handle.

Orlais seems likely, but I'm secretly hoping for anywhere but there. The Orlesian accents we've seen so far are heinous.

OMG, I got so tired of Leliana's voice by the end of DAO that I was tempted on subsequent pts to just let her go down with Lothering. Come to think of it, pretty much every Orlesian drove me nuts: Isolde, Erlina, Gascard du Puis, Hubert, the de Launcets, etc., etc., etc.

Edit: Oh yeah, also Ghyslain de Carrac.

Well in case they were thinking of it, maybe they'll think twice about the accent after this thread lol.

They hinted at orlais numerous times in DA2. Which has me disappointed because the tevinter imperium is one of the most interesting places in the DA universe and it would be great to see a game set there especially with the new mage vs chantry conflict. If its set in Orlais, I will be very disappointed, but not surprised.

It's possible they could make Orlais have a city that has an amalgam of various accents. Nevarran, Orlesian, Fereldan, Antivan, Tevinter, etc.

Well that would be fine but if everyone talks with that accent I may have to play with the VO sound off xD

I think the only Orlesian accent I really enjoyed were Leliana's, Marjolaine's, and Riordan's.

There may have been a few others, but I know those three are the ones I really enjoyed.

The accents don't matter to me, since English is not my first language anyway. Though I do find Seeker Cassandra's accent nice to hear...

But maybe DAIII doesn't need to take place in a single region in Thedas. Why can't it be in both Orlais and Tevinter? If the travel between them would take too long, then make it as a time jump.
