It'll take place in a village in Orlais.

I'd like to see DA3 take place in Orlais...so long as the protagonist isn't just another Anglo (Fereldan) character. It'd be cool to actually be an Orlesian protagonist (provided we get a good VO) or even choose your background (Fereldan, Orlais, Nevarra, Anderfels, Antiva).

It'd be cool to see Val Royaeux, feuding nobles, bad fashion sense, all the stuff Leliana spoke of come to life. I don't really mind the French accents so long as they are done well. Time to step outside the Anglo/English-based box in the series for once.

As long as races are back in DA3, I'll be happy.

Relating to Sandal, you all need to make sure you click on him numerous times when you visit your mansion in Acts 2 and 3 to get all his his weird little hints and mysterious sayings.

Like this one? *spoiler*

its still creepy to me...

Laidlaw said they're thinking about "seeing more of the Free Marches" in DA:III or something. I doubt we'll see Orlais.

I'd rather see Orlais, Nevarra, Antiva... heck, even Rivain! But, I guess they want to set it in the Free Marches because they essentially have English accents and that's easier for voice work, I don't know.

Orlais is an important country in the Dragon Age universe. It takes place in the background that is significant. For pity's sake don't mess with that.

Back to the realistic graphics.

No! Thats not true!  Thats impossible! :'(((((

I want to see Kal'Sharok.  A thaig with no access to the surface, that does questionable things to stay alive?  I wanna see.  Maybe I can check it out and take it over for Orzammar.  Did I say that out loud?  :pinched:

Yeah, I'd like to see the source.
If DAIII is about Hawke and the Free Marches again, I'm done with this franchise.

DAO did not make me feel "OMG I WANA PLAY IT SO BAD!"  It was alright but mostly slow and clunky.

"More" of the Free Marches? Screw the Free Marches. I never want to go there again. That place is nothing more than a boring insignificant irrelevent region in the grand scheme of the DA universe. Let's go to a setting as rich and unique as Tevinter. There's so much potential there.

I can't believe the number of people who are against Orlais as a setting just because they have to listen to French accents. You really want Bioware to break cannon AGAIN just so you can have a city of neutral British and American accents?

Honestly, I think they already boned things up in Dragon Age II. Origins set up a good system. Fereldens had British accents, unless they were elves or dwarves. Orlesians had french accents, Antivans Spanish accents. I figured once we knew the name of Kirkwall, everyone would sound Scottish, but they're generally interchangeable with the Ferelden accent. Well, maybe Starkhaven has a Scottish accent, judging by Sebastian. And apparently people from Tevinter sound British too? Gah! They should have stuck to distinct accents for each country. At least they gave Cassandra a unique accent being from Nevarra.

He said that in his now locked Thank You thread, and it was probably referring to Dragon Age 2 DLC as opposed to Dragon Age 3.

I don't want to listen to 40 hours of Marcel Marceau, please. I don't want that anymore than for JE2 I want to hear a ton of Asian-inflected English speakers. Plus, break cannon, why do they have accents i9f they just speak "English". The reason you have accents if because you have non-native speakers making unfamilar sounds so erither they speak "English" or they don't.  I'd rather have Orleasians actually speak French and be subtitled than hear tha bad accents for an entire game.

Well, we have two options here.

1.  If your character is someone who isn't Orlesian (The Warden, Hawke, etc), people should still have accents, because the game should drive home that you are an outsider.

2.  If you are Orlesian, you may have a point.  But then you'd need to do something to make, say Fereldens stand out, like give them all German accents.

Still, I agree it would be better if they actually had Orlesians speak in French, or some French-sounding gibberish.  Hell, in some ways it might be helpful - explain why a goodly deal of random people on the street have nothing to say to you - they just don't speak any...whatever the hell English is called in this game.
