Placeholder, It was Mark Meer. Mordin will have the same VA in ME3 as he did in ME2.
Oh, that's interesting. Do you have a link to where that is from?
EDIT: I do not notice a difference, however. I will do a comparison.

Guesses, like how Maranda didn't have the same voice in the mass effect two E3 demo.

Mark Meer also played a vorcha and Veetor. He has some serious talent when it comes to voice acting.
Quoted for truth...
As far as I know, he also voiced:
- DA:O: All the rage demons, several werewolves (among them is the Gatekeeper, and maybe, though I'm not sure, Swiftrunner), the male elf "experienced" warden;
- DAO:A: Basically all the disciples (the Herald, the First, the Lost, etc...);
- DA2: Jethann, Hybris the pride demon;
- ME2: Niftu "Biotic God" Cal, Fade's volus contact;
He probably voiced other minor characters too, but these are the ones that came to mind...
Also his voice acting for Bioware goes all the way back to Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn...

Oh, and, I think Yvonne Strahovski was doing a placeholder voice for EDI in the Reaper Base demo, she had a sort of Australian accent.

That being the voice of Wrex was indeed confirmed. And EDI just sounded like Tricia helfer to me. Makes sense since she announced she had recorded ME3 dialogue long before the E3 demo.TheOtherTheoG wrote...
I think Meer was also doing the placeholder voice for Wrex in that demo, I'm pretty sure the one warning Shepard about the Atlus was meant to be Wrex.

I haven't read confirmation that Mordin's placeholder was Mark Meer. I think that's a rumour. It would make sense though.
