Yes please. Aethyta must be in ME3.
Considering that she is Liara's "dad", she will be there.

well im not saying its impossible, but alot of those races would seem kinda "hey new race, he joins the team! haha!"Bad King wrote...

honestly, i'd rather they focus on existing characters and having a couple good new characters instead of trying to shoehorn in some new races into the squad.
i'd rather have another human or asari or turian that makes sense than a batarian that joins just for the sake of having a token batarian on the team.
Who says that new races can't have good characters?
the only one i can imagine working out is a batarian, and meh to that.
i dont really want a whole ton of new characters, i think 2 new people would be more than enough. we got vega and one other person im guessing, after that we're getting new people for no reason, we have tons of existing squadmates who people would rather have.
and i really really dislike the whole "well theres gotta be enough for someone who lost most of their squad in ME2 to have enough to play with" well, liara, the VS, vega are confirmed to be unkillable at least up to that point. if you got most people in ME2 killed, then you did it on PURPOSE. killing off a majority of your squad requires two things.
either you're really stupid, like gloriously stupid and made every wrong choice and skipped most loyalty missions/shipupgrades
OR you did it on purpose. you looked at the charts to figure out how to kill people off and you did it.
i see absolutely no reason to reward people for their incompetence with new squadmates.

Batarians are very unlikely to appear in Shepards squad due to arrival DLC.
Shepard caused the death of 300,000 (who were already dead anyway). The reapers are killing billions. I think the batarians will quickly get over what Shepard did when the reapers' acts are 10,000x worse.

I would like a Raloi.
Is it just me or I'm missing something - who are the Raloi?
EDIT: I read the wiki entry.
So anyone from devs saying we gonna see them in ME3?

Would have worked better IMO than James Vega who has basically been added to 'guide new players'. Being new to the galaxy, a raloi would have been far more suitable for this, and we'd learn a bit about what it would be like for a race to discover the Citadel community and suddenly be rocked into a galactic war shortly after.

I think they've mentioned possibly having only a few permanent squadmates along with some squadmates that appear temporarily. They could just have most of the ME2 squadmates as temporary and simply not have them if they're dead (since you'll still have enough in the permanent team, it should be at least 3 or 4 strong) but I'm not sure if that'd be a popular decision. That said, a suspiciously similar substitute for dead squadmates may not be much better. They've put themselves in a bit of a tough position with this one, I guess whatever happens there'll be someone that's not happy.Clonedzero wrote...

Well, Casey Hudson said that we will see/meet alien races in ME3 that haven't been in the Mass Effect games before. The raloi is one race we haven't seen.

Having a batarian on the team sounds so unoriginal to me. Like they're doing another Legion by giving us a squadmate that belongs to a race that's our enemy, but we're forced to work together.
Well seeing as Legion is one of the most intreasting things about ME2, I guess that would not be so bad. Legion was also required to show the diffrence between the Geth and show us that our best allies will be the True Geth

you need a "guide to new players" though, and vega fits that role perfectly. he's a marine who's never really seen the galaxy. super easy for new players to use vega as a looking glass since he's as naive about everything as the new player is. if you had it be an alien then thats another step removed from the new player fully understanding things, they dont need humans to be explained, but a weird bird man? they arent going to empathize with them as much simply due to it not being human.Bad King wrote...

sure, it might be better for YOU, or other people who are vastly familiar with the mass effect universe, but it'd be alienating to new players (literally) and you couldnt introduce the birdman too early in a natural feeling way. vega can be there pretty much from the very start.
but back on track. i really hope they go easy with the new squadmates. i honestly dont want more than 2. vega and one other person. any more than that would be awkward. i dont care about new people simply because they're a new race.
