Just purchased 1+2 and am extremely excited about getting started. All of my friends love this game and recommended i get into it. I have some questions that might help my experience.
1. I'm starting with the original. If i create a custom character and import it to ME2 will i be able to change the characters looks? I'm assuming they would have changed the character creation.
2. I love playing games on thier hardest difficulties but have never touched ME, would starting on Veteran be frustrating? Should i start with somthing more basic until i get the hang of it?
3. Is thier a good place i can find custom character tutorials for ME1? I've never been great at this in any game so i need the help. If not i think Shepard's basic model is pretty badass and i am thinking of sticking to it, im just exploring some options.
Thanks for any help you can offer me!

1. Yes, you can keep your ME1 face in ME2, or change it if you want.
2. If you're used to the hardest difficulties you should have no problem on veteran.
3. There used to be a thread on the old forums with custom faces in ME1 but I can't seem to find it. For ME2 there is this: http://www.masseffect2faces.com/

I agree with Reinoc about the difficulty level. If you're used to third person action games, and are familiar with basic RPG elements like skills/abilities with cooldowns and stat trees, you should be fine on Veteran. Once you unlock Insane, however, you might pull your hair out a little bit if you start it with a new character, especially at the boss fight on Noveria.
