Would you go ballistic if the secret to defeating the Reapers was . . .?

Water.

Pure, Wicked Witch of the West-style.  Why say this could be the downfall?  Water isn't generally a friend of metal (rust).  Since we generally think that water is not a widespread or available compound in the galaxy, there isn't much to prevent it from being a bad thing for a reaper.  I haven't seen anything that would suggest a Reaper can frolic in water or survive in a moisture filled world . . .

Before you scream at me, remember your disbelief when you saw the end boss of ME2 . . . I'm just saying, stranger things have happened. . .

Yes, I think I would, if not go ballistic, be pretty disapointed. That would be pretty lame and stupid IMO.

Your choice of heavy weapon would be a fire hydrant.

I'm just hoping it's not an Independence Day/Heretic Station-style "computer virus" solution. THAT would suck.

I think I'd rather recruit Carebears and fire love at the Reapers than upload a virus.

Personally, I think they should be offed by driving a ship into each of them.

I mean, heck, we might as well stay true to the 'Cthulhu' part of 'Flying Space Mecha-Cthulhu'

And, for bonus points, they should be wooden galleons too. Not space vessels.

I wouldn't like that because the Wicked Witch of the West was warped with Water,
but Ravenous Remorseless Reapers are truly Ravaged only through Raspberries...
Sorry couldn't resist... ;P

But seriously, I wouldn't know about water, but Thresher acid probably could be problematic to them...
Thresher acid bypasses shields and melts armour, and Sovereign demonstrated Reapers have nigh indestrustible shields but only "average" armour...

I was figuring that they would 'analyze' the schematics and figure out a photon torpedo up the exhaust pipe is the key to defeating the reapers.

Water, a virus, the power of love, bacteria, or anything so trite. All would be crap.

Shep entered a derelict reaper .
i wonder if he could sneak in a living one and blow up its core.
.

but i suspect there will be some weapon that will scare the reapers enough they'll retreat very far in dark space to lick their wounds with a promise they'll be back ... thus ME4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9, ... :P

If they have a master control reaper that makes every other reaper go out of power or whatever.

They are each an independent nation.

However that opens up for a splinter group of reapers who just want to get along and sing kumbaya.

They are half organics anyway, and in ME1 it is stated somewhere that Sovereign likes the Geth as slaves as they are easier to control than living creatures that evolve. Maybe a reaper or two got tired of all the reaping.

Just EMP them and overload their circuits. That should take care of them. Then only the organic parts will be functioning, but I assume those parts are a minority.
