Would you go ballistic if the secret to defeating the Reapers was . . .?

Oh it could be much worse than water. They could take a cue from the Macross saga and let it be emotion, then have Justin Bieber be the obnoxious music you have to listen to during every fight scene. Then again, if I were a Reaper and Justin Bieber tracks were being hacked into my sensors non-stop I would likely overload or go insane too.

I would sell out humanity and join the Reapers to make the bad music go away...

The secret to defeating the Reapers is love. The war forces all species to work together and when they're all finally united, the Reapers will say "Our work here is done!"

Tbh Liara should be the magician, and Kaidan perhaps the apprentice...

But no, either Heman or Narnia?

Neither I'm afraid.

Isn't every possible way to kill the reapers lame? It has all been done before: driving ships into them, bacteria, water, love, deus ex machina guns, renegades, arch nemesis, showing the goodness of mankind, showing them the error of their ways, etc. I don't think there is an orginal way to beat the reapers left.
I wouldn't put it past BW to have a solution in which we actually can convince the reapers that 'salvation through destruction' is actually a bad idea. Sort of like every one in France thought that beheading was a good thing to do untill one victim actually told them it wasn't fun (prior to) and they stopped doing it.

What will happen is Shepard and his confirmed squad members will fly into a Reaper, as they get inside a monotone wormhole will appear and Shep and Co. will fall through into another dimension.

They will reappear on flat ground and a unicorn will run up and jump into Vega. Then a multi-headed dragon will chase them while a short man will bestow upon them classes. Vega will be Barbarian, Garrus the Ranger, Kaidan the Magician, Liara the Thief, Shepard the Cavalier and Tali the Acrobat.

Given the number of species they have destroyed/indoctrinated/harvested, the reapers must have been shot by a lot of weapons, and so must have created all the appropriate countermeasures... Which means we'll have to be inventive to destroy them :wizard:.Which means we'll have to use our ultimate weapon:

I'd be more inclined to believe bacteria would kill them. . .

wait

But wait - that did happen. according to Harbinger. "We are limitless. You are bacteria!" (And you got hosed how many times?)

Just EMP them and overload their circuits. That should take care of them. Then only the organic parts will be functioning, but I assume those parts are a minority.

I said the same thing in other threads, but that idea isn't really logical. Because for the hundreds of reapers, and EMP would take all them out and Earth. And the energy to create the EMP would be insurmountable, even for the reapers.

Back to the OP, its not water, because the would be the dumbest ending to a game since Halo 2.

The most ideal outcome would be a virus to shut them all down, but they're super computers, so even that would be difficult. So my thought is that all the reapers are acting like a hive. All the minds are connected to Harbringer, you destroy him, you stop all the other reapers.Image IPB

Dun dun dunnn! War of the World lol

Thanks to you, every time I see the Mass Effect 3 trailer now, I hear "the chances of anything coming from Mars..." in my head. :alien:

What I'm hoping is that the boss fight somehow involves all surviving members of Shep's team at once, and not just having the meet up during cinematics. THAT would be awesome.

Water.

Pure, Wicked Witch of the West-style.  Why say this could be the downfall?  Water isn't generally a friend of metal (rust).  Since we generally think that water is not a widespread or available compound in the galaxy, there isn't much to prevent it from being a bad thing for a reaper.  I haven't seen anything that would suggest a Reaper can frolic in water or survive in a moisture filled world . . .

Before you scream at me, remember your disbelief when you saw the end boss of ME2 . . . I'm just saying, stranger things have happened. . .

In the demo Reapers were landing in water and getting their tentacles all wet.  I think reapers will be just fine in the water.

Humanity will create a dark matter cannon. Shoot Sol, a-la-Dholen. Sol supernovas. Earth and most of humanity is lost, but a large portion of the reapers are destroyed. Galaxy praises humanity for its valiant sacrifice, and the Citadel fleet unites to destroy the remainder of the reapers. Shepard finishes the fight.

I think the ending will be along the lines of this:

Reapers are made up of parts of the race they conquered right? so I think the key to destroying them will be to find out what race a reaper is made from and then finding out the specific weakness of said race. As an example, maybe the human reaper woulda been susceptible to say, gamma rays?

Go to asteroid belt or Saturn's or Jupiter's rings. Put LARGE engines on iceball. Send iceball weighing about 50 billion tons into a Reaper. It's water, just in solid state. I think that would pretty much take care of said Reaper, no?

Honey badgers, the Reapers just don't know how to deal with them.
