It is the same model as Yuris(sp) the dragon slaying GS you get in Mage Tower.

Eum not that excited to be honest. Seems to be like a 1, 2 hour experience max.
Maybe they can add more info about it, cause I won't get it just for an armor, I prefer the Juggernaut one anyways. Looks better.

And Cailin's One-hander seems to be one-handed Starfang reskinned, but that doesn't bother me because I thought the Starfang models kicked ass! Now if I dual-weild King Maric's sword with Starfang.... Ferelden has a lot of surprisebuttsecks coming oh yes it does!

On another note, I am extremely excited about more DLC, like someone else said above about snow levels, I too possess some strange affection for snow levels in videogames.

I am also very excited to put closure on two brave men who gave their lives to stopping the Blight. Duncan and King Cailan. Duncan soloing that Ogre had so much more meaning to it after my party barely made it past the one in the Tower of Ishal.

I'm concerned about this, given that my dlc updater still will not work.

If this half-assed DRM isn't fixed soon I'll have to go without. =/

Or you can just steal it, Angry One. If your Stealing skill is high enough...

To be honest, I was expecting a little more from Bioware. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great they're giving us content; but at what cost? People will say, "Oh it's only $5", but what about all the other DLC? $15, $7, $5, $5... it all adds up, and for what? An extra half an hours worth of game and a reskin?

I'll end up getting it becasue I want to support Bioware. I think they're a fantastic developer, but I really would like to see an expansion pack rather than little nibbles of DLC. I want a meal, Bioware, not a snack.

The dragon slayer is the same model? Huh, I need to go recheck that, the hilt seems completely different from Cailan's one.

I wouldn't be too sure if you're helping Bioware that much by buying the DLC. EA is probably making the most money from it, not that a bioware employee would ever comment on it!

That's all guessing, but what's not guessing is that by buying cash-cow content like these DLCs, you're giving companies like EA a license to force companies like Bioware to make these cheap DLCs, which is bad for the gaming consumer in general.

Much better to hold off buying a DLC until it's worth the money.

I'm not sure where the precedent of DLC came from initially. It's pretty frustrating, though. At the end of the day, you either like it or lump it. It's that simple. One person NOT purchasing DLC isn't going to suddenly make Bioware or EA realise they need to make full-blown expansions instead.

Modern Warfare 2 is a perfect example. Everyone is outraged at the crap IW forced down their throats, but in the end MW2 is still the highest grossing game at release of all time; and therefore it sets a precedent. This, unfortunately, is the future.

You should look a little more in the annoucment, its not just stealing his gear but uncovering a mystery.

The add-on will allow your hero to "revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens' darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden's fallen king."

See the secrets thus mystery thus conspiracy thus deeper revelations.. woooh.. see :) now everyone has to go buy it.

Wonder if we find out he suddenly becomes a Death Knight and now sports a luxurious snow white mane over his menacing dead eyes... wait a minute...

Would be awesome as hell though.

And yes the dragon slayer is indeed the kings sword! But somehow looks much plainer, must be the textures.

Never mind that we could learn more of Duncan as well, I am eagerly looking forward to RtO (will probably make a new Human Noble playthrough for that).

Because at the end of the day you want that game.  The worst thing that can happen to a game is not negative reaction.  It's no reaction.  My take on DLC is that it worked well for The Sims, and for Oblivion.  Why shouldn't you pay for it?  Back in the 90's you paid $15.00 for expansion packs for games, this is the same thing only that we have the potential to have even more content because it does not have to go through the process of being shipped to stores.

What is unfortunate is taht users feel that most DLC and other little additions where things that should have been included in the game at launch and therefore the game is incomplete without it.  That is not the case.

Dragon age had a LONG develeopement time, and it was ready for gold master 6 months ago.  As soon as they hammered the game down, they moved their team on to other projects.  Some stayed and worked on additional content, bug fixes, and continued QA, and the design team began dreaming up the next game.  But DA was ready to roll 6 months ago and the content has just finished.

People need to realize. If you don't want the dlc, don't download it. If your willing to part with your big mac and fries for a day, buy it. The numbers will speak for themselves. If theres no longer interest in dlc's people won't buy them, bioware will stop making them. Obviously there's interest, and just because YOUR not interested, doesn't mean that others aren't. This isn't your game.

Im excited for this due to the fact we never did see the killing blow on Duncan. After the look of hatred on his face, I'd expect him to make a fair stand and not just die right there. Hopefully he's got alot of corpses surrounding his,
