Where were the lot of you when Isabela practically forced herself into your bed? In the bed waiting for her, no doubt.
I was staring at her ass as the Arishok led her out of the throne room.

1. Different development teams.
2. Which part of DA2 in particular are you finding so threatening? Anders' advances won't be repeated, if you're worried about losing five points which can be made up in the next two minutes anyway. Squadmates are another matter.
3. Bioware will do whatever they want in the interests of making a good game. That doesn't necessarily mean making everyone happy.
4. Nobody is whining. There was a long running suggestion and discussion. Big difference.
5. If you have a problem with optional content that you personally won't use and that does absolutely nothing to affect your gameplay then I suggest you reevaluate your priorities.

1.) Irrelevant.
2.) Shoddy rushed development overall; romances inconsistant with ones character.
3.) Not making everyone happy =/= pissing countless fans from day 1 off.
4.) For every suggestion and discussion there is at least 5 accusations of fear of the same
5.) This is as always a stupid argument. If there was a game where you had the option to say, run a concentration camp, do you think everyone should nod and say its fine because it's optional content? You might. I don't.

ME and ME2 feature, respectively, the ability to commit murder, genocide, torture, regicide, slander, assault and assassination. It allows players to be xenophobic, cruel, uncarng, cold, calculating, brutal and utterly ruthless.
I have no problem with any of that, because it's optional. I might hate it, and never use it, but others do.
Yes, there are standards and there are lines. A concentration camp would fall beyond that line for me.
But are you seriously suggesting that in a game when one can do all of the above, an optional same-sex romance is going too far? Are your morals that offended?
Bioware clearly think the community is marginally more tolerant than your average grapefruit. They've decided, in their infinite wisdom, to include more options for romances in the third game.
If you don't like it, don't play it.

Knowing that certain characters can be bi or gay (even if its an option) might still alter our opinions of them. Even, as a poster wrote, if it's simply a little heart for one piece of dialogue. I realize gay/bi people may think this is shallow/intolerant/narrow-minded, but whatever.
Indeed it is. Expecting the world/commercial products available in said world to be tailored to you *at the expense of other people* is the very definition of narrow minded and intolerant.

For all the angsting that comes with the s/s option, I firmly believe people need to practice putting themselves in the other party's shoes. BioWare is being progressive, allowing us to roleplay in more ways. They deem it to be worthwhile and they truly have my respect for this.

This whole toggle/enable gay options/etc is hilarious to me. Here's the thing folks: People that are not straight exist in real life. You can't just enable an option and change that. If you can't handle homosexual content in a *game* then I honestly worry for these folks' social skills. For all the discomfort straight folks might feel being hit on by very forward nonstraight LIs (case in point, the often brought up Anders), think about how people who are homosexual feel when someone from the opposite gender doesn't get the point that they aren't interested and keep advancing, or even better drop the whole line of "Oh, you just haven't found the right <insert gender here>" If it makes you feel uncomfortable, well now you're seeing it from the other side.

Aww, don't worry. Remember, ME3 has Kinect implementation! Upon request, your XBox will automatically dim the lights, put on some light jazz, anything you need to make you comfortable

It'd be more hilarious to watch you hit on Kaidan to initiate the romance.

Sex change? You do know it's a game, and you can change your sex then romance that certain character.
I think there should be S/S romance options available only to new characters and Liara. Not old characters from ME1 and ME2 who wernt gay or bi before. They shouldn't all of a sudden turn gay.

HUR HUR HUR Neither can I. Cmon now. You didn't even need to hit on some of the characters to get to a romance seen. For example, Jack is all like "lets **** NOW!" out of the middle of nowhere. So I guess I won't be able to speak to any of the male characters at all. That's kinda gamebreaking, don't you think?

Not really, considering you said you're not going to play the game anyway. Also, I advise against talking to males in real-life, too, in case such a situation arises! Y'know, given your obvious animal magnetism, irresistable to men and women alike.

Oh I know it's possible but the fact that BW is (for the most part, ME1 and 2 are obviously needed to use the change gender option) trying to potentially make it not necessary is a wonderful thing to me. Having to find a work around to romance someone is a bit tedious, especially when you're unsure if the flags will work right when imported into a new game.
Really? Did every single character come up to you and say "HEY SHEP, THIS IS MY SEXUAL ORIENTATION!"? Some people don't wear their sexuality on their sleeves. Sure we can chalk it up to "They're straight because BW didn't code in s/s romances" but hell, a good writer could easily work around it and still make it work come ME3.
