Take your ONE original gay character and be happy.

How viable is the potential for introducing new gay/bi LI companions? I kind of feel like that's really not going to happen. If it does, that's awesome. I have zero complaints over creating new options with new characters.

But no retcons to existing characters. At all. There is no such thing as a good reason for a major retcon. I will be seriously pissed off if they do this. Frankly, as I'm already not certain I'm going to buy the game, it may be enough to make me totally certain I won't buy the game. I think that screwing with back stories like that is a horrible horrible idea.

What's up with this fangirls nonsense? You do realize there are many gay/bi guys and lesbian bi/girls who want it too? One gay guy is quoting you right now.

You can't retcon something that wasn't expliclty established in the first place. First. Second, some of the characters were planned as bi options but the s/s romances were cut due to time constraints. How do you know BW doesn't consider them bi nonetheless? Tali's romance from ME1 was cut too but they've continued to think about her as having crush on Shep and eventually did implement the story into the game, only delayed.

Point is that retcons of character backgrounds always break internal consistancy. Don't let the poor language selection of one poster drag you off track.

Do aliens count? I mean I'm not sure how relevant the male/female distinction really is if we're talking about interspecies romance...

You should make it a little less obvious man...  your being way to open in your attempts to antagonize people.

You are totally ruining the credibility of the argument and defacing the stance of those of us that actually care about the story of the game and have a genuine point. You realize that, don't you? Or are you just trolling and I'm falling for it face first?

Sex obviously matters more than biological compatibility...  check out all the people willing to risk getting Tali sick/  or getting sick from Garrus.

Interspecies romance was completely broken from game 1 anyway. That whole spectrum is thoroughly distrubing, but I don't expect to win any battles on that front at this point anyway.

Braiding your hair and writing Fanfic?  I know mine involves Wrex and the Salarian Councilor myself.

I don't care. The story now is what it is. I can't ask them to just turn off the disgusting alien romances. (interspecies is seriously gross) and I can't ask them to just turn on the gay/bi either. Retcons are retcons, and they almost always screw with internal consistency.

Listen, I like you. But there's something you got to understand;

1. know the enemy

I know, dear god, I KNOW there are gay males/straight males, males, males, males all out the wazhoo who wants s/s romances, but they are not the majority.  The ones pushing these s/s pervision of our characters are females and the very young ones (or otaku type) . Know thy enemy, thy may strike it down swiftly.

Really? You want Garrus and Tali to be made bisexual? The troll has a point to a degree...

Is their sex even truly analogous to humans'? Quarians could be like spotted hyenas.

A be-phallused Tali?  Hmmmmmm....  I'm not sure what to think,  but I see no bulge in her suit.  :(

Ironically, I've been called an Otaku on some occasions. And I'm totally against the idea of changing existing characters to gay/bi just to satisfy these requests.

It certainly could be. But the only species in this 'verse where they even attempted to go that deep were the "we are all super sexy pans sexual female strippers" race. I wouldn't expect too much from that kind of open and interesting exploration.

Yes, retcons are retcons. But neither Tali who never said she didn't have a crush on Shep in ME1 nor hypothetical bi character who never denied interest in the same gender are retcons. Retcons have to contradict a previously established fact and overwrite it. Tali's crush doesn't contradict anything. She never turned Shep down, nor she said "I'm asexual". Hypothetical bisexual Ashley who never said she didn't like women would not overwrite, contradict or erase the straight romance she had with ManShep or her attraction to men.
