www.destructoid.com/what-game-at-e3-2011-has-the-most-potential-at-retail--204189.phtml

"The industry analysts at EEDAR have looked into their crystal ball and
have determined that the game with the most promising retail title out
of E3 2011 is… Mass Effect 3. "

Coming from me too I believe ME3 is my most anticipated game as well.

Analysts are always wrong. ME3 has a lot of buzz, but as a single-player game, people are likely to buy only one copy per household. The game's price will drop like a rock once people complete the game and sell it to others.

Which is why EA probably wants multiplayer in ME3.

I put Skyrim first, followed very closely by ME3

Sales? Well, that would be Battlefield 3, MW3, or some Nintendo game. I don't really understand the logic.

Strange XX55XX...didn't seem to hurt ME1 or ME2's sales at all...

Honestly a game doesnt HAVE to have multiplayer to be a success or have longevity. Either way games prices ALWAYS drop like a rock

lol destructoid. Yeah, they gave Witcher 2 a 6/10. That's almost as embarassing as PC Gamer calling Dragon Age 2 the RPG of the decade. What a debacle. Oh and I see they've given Dungon Siege III a 7.5?

I have no idea what those guys are smoking, but they're really out of touch.

Aren't these the same people who predicted the spectacular success of Dragon Age 2?

And...how exactly would anyone know what Dungeon Siege III is rated if it's not released for another 2 hours?

Still, you're basing the rating of a full video game around...a short demo?

Yes. It's that bad. Don't comment unless you've played it. Once you see it, you'll understand.

Fair enough. I guess it's a good thing I took the reservation off and added it to Deus Ex anyway.

Yeah the methodology they used to arrive at their findings is rather stupid. It will be a cold day in Hell when ME outsells a Call of Duty game.

What about Saints Row The Third? It didn't even make their list...

Dungeon Siege III can't be worse than King Under Fire: Circle of Doom. I still need to play the demo though. But I don't think much of it already.

Oh wow. Good on you, that was a prescient move. You won't be sorry--imo you just dodged a bullet.

Mass Effect needs no multiplayer for replay factor. All the different decisions you can make, all the different characters you can get in the sack, make for lots of replay value. I'm working on my 5th Shep right now, totaling about 330 hours played between ME1 and ME2 so far. The only games I've played more than that are TF2 and WoW.

ME3 is definitely at the top of my list for AAA titles coming soon. Followed by Battlefield 3, Skyrim and Diablo 3.

Yeah, it was kinda weird how it happened. I decided to pick up Diablo II about a month back (try something more old school). After the first act, I realized the hacknslash gameplay wasn't my style. A week ago, I remembered that I still had Dungeon Siege reserved and pulled it off. If anything, I figured I could just buy it later. But judging by early reviews, that's probably not happening.
