So what's up guys,
what do you think about a new Main Theme for Mass Effect 3?
If you don't know what I mean, here the link:  www.youtube.com/watch
I think this Theme should play after beating ME3 also in a more epic variation as it was in ME2 when you managed to leave nobody behind.
The end of this theme was built in in several other pieces in ME 1 and 2 like in the suicidemission theme.
I don't know if I am the only one who thinks if the change of this theme would be lame but I hope that the new guy whos responsible for the Music won't mess it up with "new ideas" like they did in FF13 (no victory fanfare >_>).
Sure there should be new soundtracks but at least I would like to hear this in a greatly more epic variation at the and of ME3 as it was in ME2 or 1.

What do you think about it?:wizard:

That familiar beat is as iconic to Mass Effect as the chanting is to Halo.

That would never EVER get rid of it from Mass Effect. And so they shouldn't, its fantastic.

We don't need a new theme. The old one is great. It wouldn't be Mass Effect without it.

The Mass Effect theme will certainly remain. You can be 110% sure of it.

Yeah, Maybe but as in FFXIII and Halo Reach, the pieces like the neverforgotten Victory Fanfare or the epic maintheme of Halo where changed. And in FFXIII there was another artist in charge for the music, so im worried that they will drop this Main Theme because its the work from Jack Wall....

Well, the thing with Halo Reach was that it was a prequel. An entirely different story set apart from the main trilogy. So in that case, I can understand the absence of the classic Halo theme.

Final Fantasy XIII was just a terrible game where being a game counts.

In terms of themes, you can see in some film series (Harry Potter, for instance) how the same theme remains even if the scores and composers change. It's really more about whether the creative heads of the project want to keep it or not.

They also need to leave in Vigil, Uncharted Worlds, and The Normandy.

Yeah, there were all nice themes. But as they replaced or sratched them in ME2 I doubt they will come back..
Maybe only Vigils Theme.

Uncharted Worlds was in ME2.

As for The Normandy, the lack of ambient music is what kind of made the SR2 feel kind of lifeless.

You ment the galaxymap music theme, pardon me. Thats right but imho this music wouldn't fit when the GOD DAMN WHOLE GALAXY is attacked by big stupid jellyfishes.
Trillions of life are getting extinguished while you cruise whith such a "chilling" music in the background.
Would sound somehow.. I don't know. :S
But never the less, this theme is cool.

they should use the ending theme song of the first Mass Effect. I always loved that one, its keeps me watching the entire credits just to listen to the epicness!:D

Personally I didn't mind there being no music in the Normandy but it would have been nice though, I liked it in ME 1 when they had that sad music after Ashley or Kaiden dies (the theme is also kind of a dual theme and fits with the romance part of the game before Ilos)

It depends what our man Mansell has planned throughout ME3,
I'd be happy for a revamping of some of the ME1 motifs in well
sellected emotionally charged sections of gameplay, I think the
feeling of nostalgia for those who've played ME1 could be significant.

I think going for a copy and paste from ME1 to ME3 would be a
little uninspired as far as I'm concerned, but that's just me.

It is a great piece of music though.

The normandy theme music, the spectre induction music, and the end theme should return from ME1 even if they have been reworked, when you hear those you instantly feel like your in the game. :)

Taking away the Mass Effect Main Theme would be like taking the Throne Room Theme from Star Wars. Mansell shouldn´t copy it 1:1 but he should definetly use it.

I love Jack Wall's stuff, but Clint Mansell is my favourite composer for film soundtracks - really amazing. I'm just going to trust that he's going to do an awesome job in keeping with what's come before!

Id say let Mansell do what he does, let him compose the peice of music. If BioWare wanted us to write/compose the music to their game, they would have hired us.

You serious?

That song was generally very well received. I thought it was very good myself. I don't think they need to use it again, but something similar would be fantastic if it is just as good.

And as long as Mansell works with some existing stuff in addition to his own music I will be fine.

I think this is going to take some beating, but if anyone is up to the task it's Mansell.

Sure he can compose his peace of music but he simply shouldn't scratch the ending theme itself.
At least the theme before the credits should be something like this maybe slightly altered and with other instruments.. maybe a bigband.

I doesn't hate anything more then changing the maintheme suddenly...
